Bidra med feedbackA nice place to have a quick lunch. Fast service with nice fresh food. A good option when at Nyphemburg.
We went there on a tuesday morning, good looking interior, great and enjoyable food, okay priced, good service. All in all we had a good time.
My girlfriend decided that spoiling me with brunch for my birthday would be a great way to 're-toxify' after being extremely good and completing a detox. I was happy to oblige. (Of course, we went a few weeks after she'd completed the really strict part!) This café is located on the ground floor of the Museum building. We contemplated doing the tour after our brunch, but spent so much time relaxing and eating that we instead decided to walk the lovely grounds surrounding the Schloss to enjoy the beautiful day. The brunch buffet had a wonderful selection - something for everyone's taste, and all homemade. I love to be able to choose small portions from a selection, trying a little of everything that catches my eye. The omelette was heavenly; leek and cheese if I recall well. Done to perfection, and served warm. There was also a selection of mouth watering morsels to choose from. I particularly appreciated this, because I rarely eat meat, and a lot of it was without, or held just a small amount. (I usually find it difficult in Germany because they tend to serve mostly - understandably - Germanic, meat laden fare, and I end up eating bretzels with sweet mustard, or something overloaded with cheese). This time, I found myself going back for more - too many times! My friend was in ecstasy over the prawns - resting in a delectable sauce, and beautifully presented in a glass. There was a selection of salmon, cold meats and cheeses, the bread selection was excellent; fresh and varied. There was so much to choose from that I can't remember it all. We enjoyed a couple of glasses of Prosecco with our meal, then continued on with the sweet part of the buffet. There was a melt in the mouth, thin, creamy cheescake, topped with fresh fruit, which I didn't even try to resist. Even more enticing than that was - for me at least - a surprise. They presented some still warm from the oven pastries that looked a bit like what in Australia we might call a Snail. Usually I can resist. These, however were made from a brioche type of dough, (I think) with a touch of saffron, and baked in a way that the sugar content caramelised. Heavenly! Shamefully, I ate two! I can't comment on the 'value' in monetary terms, as it was a gift, but in terms of enjoyment and the quality of the fare, I couldn't fault it. Will definitely return.
We were there last week. The place is very cute and nice ambiance. BUT! We waited for a very long time until we were served cake first and then another 20 minutes later the tea. The cake was long gone by then. I'll start with the cake: it was a chocolate cake and when we saw it on display it was gooey in the middle, and we thought it was a lava cake. But when I ate it I realised the cake was heavily under baked. My stomach was messed up afterwards. My friend ordered a chai latte and the little cup that it was served in was only half served with the chai and the rest was just foam!! We definitely won't be going there again!
Very very slow service. Coffee comes 15min after cake... Cake very small. Tea cups too small... Place is too small - not suitable for families... Food kind of pricy....
