Maruti - Mount Shasta

Of course the place is closing. It was started and run by foreigners. Food was great but selection was limited, hours were incompatible, too much staff, and they didn't understand how to integrate with rural America let alone the uniqueness of Shasta. I will miss the food. So much for spiritual dining, pack up and run for more money in Portland..... PS Dodee's review below is accurate. The owners response illustrates why they failed.

Excellent! We are from Southern Cal, and when traveling up north, we make sure that we stop in Mount Shasta to eat at Maruti. We can't find anything close to it in Southern Cal. The food is so fresh and delicious. The owner is very friendly and helpful with recommendations. Just looking at the pictures right now, makes me want to go back. My only complaint is that it is to far for us. If it were closer, we would be there quite often. They need to open up another restaurant in Southern Cal. We highly recommend this restaurant.

What an incredible meal! My family just went here tonight and we were blown away. Coming from the Bay Area, we have the privilege of getting access to some seriously excellent food from all over the place, but even with our experiences with top tier Indian cuisine, this place blew it all out of the water! We ate until we were absolutely stuffed, but it's truly a credit to the clean style of fresh cooking that we still felt great even after gorging ourselves. The service was fantastic and the owner couldn't be nicer, either. We're bummed they're moving to Oregon, but it's all the more reason to plan a Portland trip in the very near future We know they're going to do great up there! Also, the price was phenomenally reasonable for the quality of food served. Be sure to get the vegan chai tea Super creamy and beautifully spiced.

Really good food for a affordable price. My family and I especially liked the Paneer Tikka Masala. It tasted even better with the great view of Mount Shasta. The restaurant has a very pleasant vibe that many people like. But the one thing is to get more seating.. The wait was a little on the longer side but we still enjoyed our time when we had the great food. I plan to come back soon.

Last time when we visited Mt.Shasta, we missed this place. Glad that we tried it this time. Amazing food quality and very friendly staff. Do try this if you get a chance before they close in August.
