Matt's Pizza Dept. - Mount Pleasant

I stumbled upon Matt's when I was in the area for an appointment. I haven't found good NY style pizza in Charleston, so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm glad I did! The staff was wonderful. They explained the specials to me and any substitutes I could make. They offer a lunch special of 2 slices of pizza and a drink for $6. If you don't want two slices, you can do a slice, salad (house or caesar) and a drink. I opted for the salad option. It was fairly large and tasted delicious. The dressing is served on the side, which is how I prefer it. The pizza was delicious. They had a ton of options to order by the slice. I went with plain cheese. It was thin and crispy and folded exactly how I expected. The cheesecake looked really good but I was too full to try some. I will definitely be back, so I'll try it then! I recommend checking this place out.

This place is absolute trash. Complete garbage. I have given it 4 tries because of my location. On a Tuesday at 6:30pm, I was quoted at 45 min to an hour for a delivery. I checked in at 8:15pm and they hadn't started my order... A sandwich and a 10 pizza. They were happy to turn down my order. The management is completely incompetent and as someone who is in the industry, it makes me believe that their food and sanitation is compromised. I will NEVER eat at this restaurant, regardless of their groupons and other discounts to buy business. Do yourself a favor and eat anywhere but here. This place is the worst.

Without a doubt this was THE worst Italian sub that I've ever had! Very little meats. The seasoning was poor or non- existent. I had a few bites and threw the remainder away! Ugh!

06/07/2017 Another great Deluxe pizza. When I arrived, the pizza was just coming out of the oven. I ordered this to go and it was delicious when I arrived home. The people here are very friendly and grateful for your business.

While we love their pizza, we have tried to order online the last three times, and they clearly didn't check their online system and forgot about our order. It has taken over an hour and a half each time, but they always lie and say it's out for delivery when we finally call back to check on the status. Shame on us for continuing to order from them and assuming it will be delivered without us calling. Great pizza when you can get it warm but in less you can go pick it up, avoid Matt's.
