Great food and customer service. We went to Abom multiple times for dinner and liked most dishes we ordered. The special beetroot and quinoa salad with chicken tenders was delicious. We loved the venison bolognaise pasta. Could stop eating it. The pork and fennel pizza was good though the crust was too doughy and not seasoned. Staff there are really nice and accommodating. Would definitely recommend paying them a visit!
The service was a bit slow, likely because the restaurant was very busy. However, the staff were friendly and even treated us to free fries to compensate for the long wait for our food, which was a nice touch! I was curious about the previous negative reviews regarding their pizzas, but I can confidently say they have made significant improvements. I enjoyed a delicious chicken pizza, so I definitely recommend trying it. No worries at all!
Having stayed in several rooms on different floors, I've noticed a distinct musty odor the further you go into the depths of this establishment. This was particularly noticeable during the warmer season when the air is typically drier. On a positive note, the food and hospitality on the upper levels were excellent. Plus, the massive taxidermied polar bear was a fun added touch.
While staying at our hotel, I met a couple and later ran into them in the village. They mentioned that not many places were open after the Queen's Birthday weekend, so we decided to try ABOM. For our starters, we ordered chips, focaccia, and olives, which turned out to be quite a lot of food on their own. The olives were delicious, and the focaccia had a delightful garlic and Parmesan flavor on the crust. The French fries were crispy and paired well with the tomato sauce. The venue itself was lovely. For my main course, I chose the gnocchi with a creamy mushroom sauce. The gnocchi was decent but slightly undercooked, as it wasn't as spongy as I expected. However, the sauce was flavorful, especially when complemented by the grated Parmesan on top.
