Bidra med feedbackNow this is what you call a great Dive Bar. There are dollar bills hanging and pasted throughout the place. I'm sure I have about 40 bucks up there somewhere where I wrote notes and and drew pictures on with a black marker from the years I've visited this place. You never know who you will be sitting next to in this place the crowd is so diverse. You have the 60 year old man with the Hawaiian shirt loafers, Bikers, a fisherman with 1 arm and some hoochies from the nearby town Castroville or people from Santa Cruz or even Monterey trying to be on the Down Low. It's always interesting and so are the bartenders they will treat you like a regular and even do a shot with you. They usually book really good bands Friday Sunday and there are always people on the dance floor. I kid you not, I've known quite a few people that have fallen in love at this place. Hmph, must be the sea air and all that money hanging around.
The drinks are expensive but strong. The location is great and the restaurant next door is good. The best part about it is the live music and the great musicians that come every week. The owner is a great guy who has built a wonderful business enterprise in Moss Landing but he is elderly and does not get involved in what actually goes on which is a shame as it has lost him good customers and . He puts his trust in a manager that cares more about the little 'crew ' then about the reputation or the financial profits of the business. The all female bartender staff can and have thrown out good customers that they view as competition. They are also allowed to be aggressive and violent to customers and get away with it. They can get involved in physical fights and still work there but throw out people who have done nothing wrong. No one who goes there says anything because they know they could be next to get thrown out of the only local bar with live music. Some of the bartenders are great but as usual a few bad apples spoil the bunch. It 's too bad a strong fair manager isn 't put in to get the place in order (clean! , advertise more effectively to bring in more business (social media , and enforce a standard set of rules that applies to their own staff. They could also save money by cutting off all the free drinks the bartenders give to all their friends. If anyone marks this review as 'funny ' you can bet it was one of the bad apples there who are on a power trip.
Best little dive bar around. great people. great atmosphere. even better bartenders! laid back just the way I like it. fun decor. highly suggest coming down for their gatherings like hookers ball. too much fun! never had a bad time here. great band in the weekends!
If you're looking for an authentic dive bar experience, this is the spot for you. It's dimly lit and has a slightly rundown vibe, complete with a stripper pole, pool table, and jukebox. The walls and ceiling are covered in dollar bills, each adorned with unique messages. They serve food from the nearby restaurant, which is surprisingly good. The bar hosts some quirky events throughout the week and year, including karaoke nights and a themed event called Hooker's Ball around Easter—yes, you read that right. It's a charming little place off Highway 1 with laid-back bartenders and a relaxed atmosphere. If you want to grab a drink and enjoy some time with friends, this is the place to be. Just don’t expect anything upscale; expect a good time instead.
This restaurant has been closed for three years. I wanted to inform others so you don't waste your time trying to visit.
