Bidra med feedbackThe coffee was delicious as I was really in need of a espresso after drinking instant coffee for a few days.
This is truly a 'local' cafe, and produces home made cakes, great breakfasts and lunches and a Wednesday evening dinner - bookings essential. Friendly staff, easy parking and plenty to do in the area.
This little cafe has a great apple pie that is light and delish! I always pop in for a coffee and a sweet treat but you can't beat the apple pie. I once had chips that weren't properly cooked, pale and hard. Stick to the cakes and coffee.
Heading off for a Sunday drive, we ended up at Redesdale at lunch time. We were going to the pub but noticed many cars parked outside Rural Cafe where we had a disappointing lunch several years ago. Fortunately we decided to give it another go. We were waited on attentively yet unobtrusively by Jamie. I had home-made cauliflower & cheese soup and hubby had a very filling ham, cheese & pineapple toastie. We then shared a home-made slice of lemon meringue pie by Nanna Norma. The lattes were made exactly to order and not half filled with froth. Jamie told us the cafe was under new management for some 2 years. What a refreshing change in such an unexpected place. Do try it out. People who provide such good food, service and value for money should be patronised.
Pub was closed, thought to check out the newish café. Light lunch we had country steak sanga, win. Partner had a salad roll, another win. Busting with fresh salad bits on nice gourmet roll. Coffee was acceptable and pleasant country service. LOL (little old lady) Norma the local baking champion, and wish she was my grandmother and owners aunty fill the cake cabinet with a best I ever eaten lemon meringue and apple pie plus slices etc.Couldnt see the plate for the pie , ice-cream and cream. Just how I like it! Had to get some take-away....twice. Ditch the pub head to the café.
