Le Mousso - Montréal

Fantástic and ecléctic food. Nicelly surprise. Close to the quality of central # 2 in the world. Music could be improved, too heavy to loud for the quality of food.

Montreal has some amazing restaurants - Le Mousso is one of the best. They have a tasting menu with an option to pair well-chosen wines with each course. You can order wines off a list but we went the wine pairing route, and we weren't disappointed. This is one of the few tasting menu dinners where I've enjoyed everything put in front of me. Delicious food + superb service + sleek, trendy decor + great music = one of the best dining experiences we've ever had. I've included a copy of the menu for that evening, along with pictures of some of the wonderful food we ate. Full disclosure: it's not inexpensive. We both had a cocktail to start, the tasting menu + the wine pairing and our bill was $375 + tax (before gratuity). My partner, who is quite frugal, said it was well worth it. I agree.

We took the tasting/wine agreement meal. the first services were divine but there was no constancy afterwards. Chicken was a disaster and lobster too. a very expensive meal. Besides, the music is too strong. I'm not going back.

What experience! everything was delicious, refined, and under the sign of culinary ingenuity. We loved it very much. I recommend the wine tasting suggested with each dish. It's expensive, but we've got it for our money. definitively in my top 10 restaurants to show.

Hardly anyone reads a five-star review, I know, and I can't add anything more to what people have already said about how delicious and playful the menu is here, or how the service is warm, friendly and on point. Easily one of the best meals of my life.A few tips, though:1. It is going to be long - plan on spending 3-4 hours here, so go with people you really like - the communal tables are not really romantic, and I think it's best as a shared experience anyway2. You can try calling day of for a reservation - they might call you back (as they did us) if there's a cancellation3. You can split the wine pairing between two people for an extra $10 ($35 each instead of $60 for one person). They are pretty generous with "1 oz" pours and if you're not big drinkers, the quantity is perfect.Totally worth the splurge!
