Bidra med feedbackThe restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere and the food was delicious. We reserved it for our Christmas office dinner and were seated in the basement. The food and service were outstanding and I would definitely go back again without hesitation.
My friends and I visited this restaurant on a Friday night before going to see a show at the Corona theatre. The service was quick and friendly, and the food was fantastic. We enjoyed a variety of dishes including a mixed salad, cherry tomatoes, grilled squid, sardines, cod croquettes, and a unique chicken Piri-Piri poutine. The only downside was that there was not enough cheese in the poutine. The option to bring our own bottle of wine or beer made the meal very affordable. We would definitely come back again.
I went with friends for the first time. Every person ordered appetizers with their meal, but I just ordered one main. Not only was the service on the slow side, but they managed to get my meal out of the kitchen ten minutes after all the others got their nets at the table. I mention this, as I think it was bad planning from the kitchen, and it kept my experience of this restaurant. I could have more understanding when the place was full, but it was far from the case this night. The piri-piri chicken was simply okay, a bit on the dry side and quite “charcoal-y” for my taste. The sauce was good, not excessively spicy. I tasted the lamb and that was good. I would definitely have this choice on the menu next time. The Custard darts were delicious for dessert and I was glad to serve two on the plate.
Lisboa Porto now offers a full bar. Although, the wine list for now offers choices from Portugal (Private Collection) you will enjoy one of the selections. Herman chose her when he visited Portugal. Yeah, Bitoque is Lisboa Porto now. New... the same fare. YES The kitchen has not changed. Food and tariff will continue to enjoy. Herman congratulates on the new décor and the theme Terrace The Tram. on the point you keep the preparation and presentation of the foods. As always your business card is the food. No disappointment, and our visitors from New York loved their dishes.
Crossing the threshold into this off-the-beaten path restaurant is like being transported to Lisbon. We arrived early on a Thursday evening without a reservation and were welcomed to sit anywhere. The place is airy yet exudes warmth with authentic, atmospheric decor and fado music playing...in the background. There are different levels and nooks, giving it a cozy vibe for its size. The service is warm but efficient. The genuine Portuguese menu well prepared, elegantly presented and reasonably priced. The tapas selection is a nice touch, as is the BYOB feature. The highlight for us, though, was chatting with the hands-on owner, Herman Alves, a charming and interesting character. If you would like a sweet European experience without a transatlantic trip, bring some friends, a bottle, and step in!
