Bidra med feedbackIt's great to have a Basha in Monkland Village, especially when you're craving fast Lebanese food. The prices are reasonable (comparable to competitors like Boustan) and the shish taouk sandwich was decent, though nothing extraordinary. The sandwich was well-prepared. However, the workers seemed more focused on chatting with each other than serving customers. I'm not sure if I would return, unless I was really in the mood for it, as there are many better Lebanese fast food restaurants in Montreal.
I would not recommend doing business with the owner of this restaurant. He does not keep his word. I made a deal with him to pick up some print material, but when my manager arrived, he tried to change the terms of our agreement and asked for a lower price. Despite this, I still had to pay him in the end. The owner is very untrustworthy.
I often end my evenings at this restaurant, where I enjoy hawawshi, falafel, or a vegetarian pita with garlic potatoes. They offer many affordable options on their menu, catering to both vegetarians and meat-eaters. The staff is very friendly and interactive, preparing your food to eat in or take out while you watch them create your meal. You can choose to sit at tables outside on the deck or inside the restaurant. Overall, this restaurant offers a healthier alternative to fast food burger joints at very reasonable prices, ensuring both your appetite and wallet are satisfied with each visit.
I've been going to this restaurant since it's open. the staff is very nice and I must know them over the years. eating is excellent (I recommend the shawarma plate).
The Basha Restaurants have been around Montréal for a long time. My husband insists that the flagship location on St. Catherine Drummond Sts. is still the best, but I find that this neighborhood location compares very favorably. Plus, it is open late nights and...not way downtown. Whether you want to eat in or take out or have food delivered, the Basha on Monkland is very convenient. I like the the plates rather than the wraps. Even though they are a bit more expensive, I think they are good value. You get a lot of food, often enough for lunch the next day. The Vegetarian Plate is one of my favorites. You get five vegetable items. I also like the chicken shwarma. They also have a nice selection of desserts. Parking is challenging around Monkland Ave., so try the side streets. The Monkland Ave. bus stops close by.
