So when you ask, don't stop trying this soup. There are tables in the outside area, but I suggest you stay at home and enjoy the interior decoration. the most outstanding of the letter is, of course, the pork foot that gives name to the house. but other traditional dishes are also on the menu, and are very delicious, such as duck-feeding, bouef cake and brulée creme dessert. My wife and I love a good meal and don't have any problem spending a few hundred dollars on dinner if its worth it. The Bison tartare and the maple syrup dessert that we got were by far the highlights of the night. We got the poutine with foie gras, it was fine, but really just poutine with a few bits of foie. Not sure what we expected in hindsight. I got the infamous duck in a can it was really just ok for me. My wife did get the pork shank which she loved. My other family members got the Mac N Cheese and Pork Chop. Neither was great, and my wife thought the Mac N Cheese was just bad. For $500, we are expecting an out of this world meal instead some in our group asked if they should get a burger on the walk home.
Mother. Of. God. A meaty god. If this was in Toronto (or rather were [the subjunctive! roars the meaty god] if this were in Toronto, it would be freaking pretentious. But it 's not. So it is awesome. And expensive. But worth it. Splurge, young carnivore, splurge! This would get a five star review but they were out of the pork hock. Yes, pied de cochon and no pied de cochon. I come by every twenty years (did I mention it was expensive? and they don 't have pied de cochon. I howled in dismay. Really. Yet despite this major setback, the meal was magnificent, service magnifique, and my gut biome and mood is still better for this feast. The duck tataki appetizer was one of the best things I have ever eaten. Oh my.
Overpriced. Feels like they over-used their name/fame and did cut corners to make more . Average quality. I don't mind paying higher price for a quality meal, but I honestly had way better food for way cheaper. Even the quantity (wine served in a smaller-than-usual glass or food) is not there. Thank god I did not order a starter or a dessert... My disappointment would have been even greater. To top it all, the service is not aligned at all with the professionalism one should/could expect in a higher-end restaurant. J'ai vu, j'ai essayé, je n'y retournerai pas et ne recommanderai pas ce restaurant. Quelle déception retentissante... Nous aurions été plus satisfait dans une pizzeria à quelques mètres de cet établissement.... du cassoulet avec une sauce sucrée... On ne me l'avait jamais fait celle-là!
I have been talking about eating here forever! Finally, my wife took the initiative to make a reservation and it lived up to all the hype. The foie gras is amazing. We had the temaki, nigiri and of course the poutine foie gras, all incredible. Its has a relaxed atmosphere with outstanding service. It's a bit pricey but when the experience is this good, price is never an issue!!!
