Au Coin du Feu - Moncontour

I ate here twice recently, as our favourite place was closed for the holidays, and we had visitors to show around. This is a fairly attractive restaurant on the main square of beautiful, mediaeval Moncontour. In nice weather, there is outside seating too. What I like here is that if you've had enough of eating pancakes (the Breton speciality), there are other options: pizza, omelettes, burgers etc. What I like less is the rather perfunctory service; I never feel really welcome here! The service is competent (no wrong orders, no long waiting) but just not very friendly.

We were the first people to be seated outside and were met by a friendly young man. We ordered three different dishes for lunch: pizza, burger bacon omelette. The burger and omelette were served with lovely chips and a small salad. Presentation was good and all the food was tasty. Service was a little slow, but it was busy so understandable. Situated in the main square, you can't miss it. We would return.

This small family run restaurant i well worth a visit. We went as a party of 4 and everyone rated it as place to return to on our next visit to Moncontour. I'm not a great fan of crepes but had a hamburger instead which was excellent. The owner speaks a little English and provides service with French smile. you get good service excellent food at a budget price what more could you ask for. We will certainly be returning to Au Coin du Feu on our next visit to Moncontour a much favoured town in this part of Brittany.

El servicio por decirlo así ...pesimo. Te quitan el tenedor si compartes el postre, y te lo dicen tal cuàl....nunca me habia encontrado nada semejante.

Dans un restaurant on recherche une bonne cuisine (plutôt moyen), une déco sympa (plutôt reussie), un bon accueil et une ambiance (ce ne sera pas dans cet établissement). La serveuse pas très souriante nous prend la commande et nous demasquons le menu enfant qui coûte plus cher que les mêmes crêpes prises séparément à la carte : explication nule : C'est parce que les assiettes sont décorées différemment pour les enfants... Bref, à Moncontour il y a d'autres restaurants qui feront je l'espère plus d'efforts pour ses clients.
