Bidra med feedbackWe had a great dinner with great service and food. Thanks to Cristobal for nice evening. I recomend to try this restaurant. Greetings
The restaurant has a view over the Atlantic Ocean, we were there for sunset around 19:30, it was beautiful! Top service and very good food, great wine too. All in all an excellent evening. Would definitely go back!
We stayed at the Gloria Palace Royal over Christmas and when we made the booking there was an option to book the Kaia restaurant tasting menu which we thought would be a nice treat during our holiday. It was quite expensive at €69 per head but we decided it would make a change to the buffet restaurant which was included in our half board booking. On arrival at the hotel we booked this for the Saturday night as booking was recommended and were looking forward to some lovely food, waiter service and good ambience. We were surprised on arrival that there was only one other couple dining in the restaurant so there was absolutely no atmosphere, there was a little low background music but the overriding sound was the clinking of cutlery from us and the other couple and we felt quite uncomfortable speaking in normal tones so didn't really converse much. The tasting menu was different to the one shown at reception and was really nothing special to justify the high price tag, some crispy chicken pieces on salad leaves to start, then grilled salmon with a rather dense aniseed flavoured risotto followed by a very small medallion of steak with two pieces of grilled bacon and cheese, the steak was nice and would have been good with a few vegetables and sautéed potatoes. Semifreddo for dessert. We had a nice bottle of wine which from the menu shown to us at reception we thought would be included in the price but this was an extra €27. The waiter was very attentive and professional but he was hardly overworked with only two couples to attend. One bizarre thing happened when about four other members of staff came in and sang happy birthday to the other couple making more staff than customers for a while and it all felt a little awkward. The meal was pleasant enough and it was nice to be waited on but we wouldn't recommend it as it was very overpriced and no ambience for a special evening, stick to the buffet restaurant, there is much more atmosphere and the food is just as good even if you have to get it yourselves.
Nice and serviceminded staff. Great wellcooked food. Fantastic view. Worth a visit when in Amadores.
On arrival we were met by a lovely waiter where we were seated indoors. The restaurant was empty apart from 1 other couple. No background music, apart from the annoying din from the hotel entertainment, not a 5 star restaurant. Half a dry French stick and some butter to begin, followed by a really wet and strange aperitif, left overs from news years eve I think! The wine was nice, albeit the waiter was confused when we asked for a sauvignon blanc, so we got the Lanzarote white!! Food...we went straight for the main as the starters were more expensive than all the mains. Mains arrived in the quiet restaurant where we were joined by another couple, now there was 6 of us. Octopus for me and veal for my wife. I didn't know that you could get such small amounts on a plate, and the sea sponge like food was just plain strange. The veal however was incredible bad, half fat! Accompanied by what can only be described as a liver pate with jelly. When we complained to the hotel manager about our poor experience we were told that we should of asked for another plate of food, and met with a total disregard for customer service. A word of advice all, if you want good food go to Mogan instead of paying for a taxi to go to a poor restaurant.
