Young Joni - Minneapolis

This review is exclusively for the BACK BAR speakeasy at Young Joni, with a focus on my most recent visit. We arrived at 4:30 PM on a Friday and patiently waited for 20 minutes before being seated. The host was friendly, and we promptly received our menus. Pros: The bar's pizza menu has been expanded to include the full restaurant menu. During happy hour, I was able to order a basic one-topping pizza for just $10. I ordered a tea party mocktail, while my date had the southside cocktail. Both were distinct, refreshing, and thoroughly enjoyable. Our pepperoni pizza was exceptionally delicious and one of the best we've had in the Twin Cities. Cons: Unfortunately, our server didn't take the initiative to explain the menu, offer recommendations, or engage in any welcoming small talk. While not a major issue, it would have enhanced our experience. Furthermore, our server failed to check in after delivering our food and drinks. Even when we finished, they walked past our table multiple times without stopping to ask if we wanted another round. This lack of attention was surprising, especially considering the bar wasn't crowded, and the staff didn't appear to be very busy. In fact, three tables across from us were empty. After waiting for 20-30 minutes, we finally managed to get our bill.

The pizza was exquisite, the ambiance delightful, and the dining experience unforgettable. A must-visit for pizza lovers! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $50–100

I've been a long time patron of Young Joni, and the Back Bar specifically is my all time favorite bar in the Twin Cities. Naturally, it seemed like a perfect choice to host the reception for me and my wife's wedding, and after doing so, we could not have asked for a better experience. Stephen, the special events and FOH manager, was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was so helpful in the planning, communication, and execution of our reception on the day-of. The staff at our reception were awesome, and helped us create such a memorable experience. The drinks were stunningly crafted (of course), and the food was perfect. Our guests came away telling us that it was by far the best wedding reception they'd ever been to. We are SO HAPPY with our experience, and we highly recommend the Young Joni Back Bar as a wedding venue!

Highly recommend a stop to Young Joni's! We snagged a spot in the back bar which has one of the best speakeasy vibes in the Twin Cities. We enjoyed our happy hour pizza and cocktails while enjoying the ambiance and chatting with our bartender.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. I've never enjoyed a meal more. Grilled Wings: amazing. The zhoug was phenomenal. Nice char from the grill. The lemon added so much. Great dish. Korean BBQ Pizza: Wow. Just an awesome creation. All of my favorite things on a pizza. The dough was incredible. Coookies and Bars: Holy moly. Another one. Perfectly executed. Not a single bad bite. The space is nice and chic. The service was excellent. I can't begin to say how great this experience was. If you are in MN and don't visit here, you've made a mistake.
