Alioto's Bar & Restaurant - Milwaukee

This is an excellent place to eat, service, size of resturant is good, bar is very good also, banquet rooms are very nice too.

Attending a wedding reception for a friend of our congregation. Upon arrival, we had to wait but that's understandable due to the lack of staff. Our seating was very nice, but the arrival of attendees left much to be desired for we had to wait to be served. Some took advantage of the lull and acquainted themselves with the bar. An announcement was made later, that by request of the bride and groom liquor would not be served. Since my wife and I weren't drinking it was okay with us. There was an intolerable long wait for the food. Could have been at the request of the bride and groom to meet and greet. The usual baked chicken, meatballs, mashed potatoes, and green beans are served buffet style. No question that the food was tasty and the presentation was very good allowing for two lines. The two different types of cake offered were good as well, however, the coffee was lukewarm, so we requested a change but it did not occur. Everything else was orchestrated well and the rest of the time was dancing, talking, and moving about. We understand how short-staffed they appeared to be and don't want to be so hard. I've been there many times when it (Alioto's) operated like a machine. Will go back hoping for the former smooth operation and service .

The service is always top notch and the food is delicious no matter what you order. Limited menu options but still enough variety to make a visit worthwhile.

Had dinner in the back room with a group. Had the pork that they were serving that night.
