Canada Cafe - Merritt

I don't normally get Chinese food in Merritt. I ordered some pick up. Tasty. Lots of left overs. Left over still taste good several hrs later. Overall I would go

My boyfriend and his family are Chinese, so we thought we would try Canada Cafe. We got to the restaurant, and we found the overall experience quite disappointing. We had the two people working who I presume are the owners go to the back for 15 minutes at a time (restaurant and take out was not busy from what we could see). We had to ask after we did eventually get our meals for plates, serving spoons, and chopsticks as we waited 10+ minutes with them in the back again. When we needed assistance, we needed to wait 15 minutes for one of the people to come out and ask. We never recieved any water to start for anyone at the table. I have a gluten allergy, and i got told a dish was gluten free after my boyfriend 's dad translated no wheat and no soy sauce, but the singapore rice noodle did in fact have wheat and braised pork in it-i got sick later that night; according to my boyfriend,my meal out of the 4 dishes we had was the best flavour and could have used more spice-my overall rating for flavour would be 3.5-4/5 for my dish. Overall, it was a very mediocre dinner. Unfortunately, we will not be going back as there was no gluten free options; the service was poor and felt like they couldn 't be bothered as we never received waters to start or offered a refill on our drinks we did eventually get; and the food was not the best (according to other people at our table).

No sweet n sour sauce on my sweet n spur pork and no fork or chopsticks and I'm staying in a motel so get to eat with my fingers ?

Best Chinese Food ? in Merritt. Hands down! I only stop in to see family...and tried others locally...but this is way tastier and great prices. Thank you!!
