Canada Cafe - Merritt

I usually don't order Chinese food in Merritt, but I decided to give it a try for takeout. The food was delicious, and there were plenty of leftovers. Even after a few hours, the leftovers still tasted great. Overall, I would definitely go back.

I have a gluten allergy, and after my boyfriend's dad translated that my dish contained no wheat and no soy sauce, I ordered the Singapore rice noodles. However, it turned out that it did contain wheat and braised pork, and I ended up getting sick later that evening. According to my boyfriend, my dish was the best in terms of flavor among the four we ordered, although it could have used more spice. I'd rate its flavor about 3.5 to 4 out of 5. Overall, the dinner was quite mediocre. Sadly, we won't be returning due to the lack of gluten-free options, poor service—no one even bothered to bring us water or offer drink refills—and the food didn't impress the rest of our group either.

I received my sweet and sour pork without any sauce, and there were no forks or chopsticks provided. Since I'm staying in a motel, I had to eat with my fingers. Not great!
