Xaga Sushi Asian Fusion - Merrick

The food was excellent, and the service was too. It’s a quiet and peaceful spot for lunch. We’re working our way through the restaurant alphabet, and this was a fantastic choice for the letter X.

This is one of the few places I discovered through Instagram reels that I decided to visit. It seemed promising and the prices looked amazing. While the food was decent, it ultimately fell short of expectations. There are better sushi options and deals available elsewhere in NYC and Long Island. Additionally, the service left much to be desired. If you have a special promotion or marketing tactic to attract customers, you should present it as soon as they're seated. I had to specifically request the special menu. Although we marked our selections for the sushi platter, they brought out everything at once without explaining what each item was. The presentation was indeed lovely, but without proper service, it loses its impact. After reviewing our order, we discovered some sushi we had requested was either missing or not even planned to be served at all. Furthermore, sitting closer to the sushi bar, we could smell the restroom when it was flushed, with odors wafting through the ceiling vents. Despite the nice ambiance, average food, and appealing promotions, I likely won't return for another meal.

This is one of the best sushi restaurants I've ever been to. The rolls are generous in size and packed with fish instead of being overloaded with rice. The staff is welcoming and attentive, and the restaurant itself is impeccably clean.

So I very frequently order my sushi to go from this location. I live close in the area and sometimes I just want to take it to go. You cannot go wrong with the sushi here I am not a true lover of some of the other meals that they offer however, if your goal is to get some nice fresh raw sushi, this is definitely the place to go. My favorite are the spicy yellowtail sushi roll and I just add some scallions and poof, perfection! Service is always good, friendly, and timely. Since I never dine in I'm not sure what the ambiance is like but from the quick glances I've stolen it seems pretty nice.

Enjoyed a lovely dinner with friends last night. Food was very good as was the service. The restaurant was clean and welcoming. My friend also had the shrimp dumpling soup which she said was delicious. Parking is ample.
