Bidra med feedbackThat is a hard restaurant to write about it. it is a hole in the wall 'small place that is not in the center of the city merida, nor is it in a raised area. it is on the road from centro, the. called av. jacinto canek (it is really where 57 will leave 59 the city.) we drove past and wanted next to the fish market, but they were closed so that we decided to try this type of new small seafood restaurant. it has more pros than cons. the biggest thing was that the fried fish was not fat. it was as advertised as crispy! we had three different types of tacos fried fish, fried garnel and garnel in vinegar. they were in order, nothing special, except they were not like most friend seafood in merida drops in fat. that was a very big profi! the friend crispy garnel had a very strong taste that we could not identify so that we asked the owner (he is also the chef) and he said there would be no strange ingredient and he was no help in identifying. he told us that it could be the oil because it was a combination of dingen that contain cardamon. it could have been that, but I use cardamon while cooking Indian food and it does not have this strong, almost chemical taste. we also ordered the fraught fish plate and again, it was crispy and not oily. So, another profi! the other big pro was the price. I couldn't believe that the amount of food we got for such a very small price! So, what is the side of this small interesting restaurants? there was not much taste. they had no interest. they did not taste bad, but they had anteing taste of interest. a lack of salt could have been the problem. we liked the quality of the service and enjoyed talking to the owner/cook. will we be coming back? I don't think we'll be back in the near future. After we give it some time, we can see if the quality of the taste corresponds to the quality of the service!
Piccolino con una decina di tavoli. Il ceviche è veramente buono e e le birre con il caldo che fa vanno giù a raffica. Prezzi contenuti.
This is a hard restaurant to write about. It is a 'hole in the wall' small place that is NOT in the center of the city of Merida nor is it in an 'up-scale' area. it is on the street out of centro that is called Av. Jacinto Canek (it is really where 57 becomes 59 leaving the city). We drove by and were going to the fish market next door, however, they were closed so we decided to try this 'kind of new' little seafood restaurant. It has more pros than cons. The biggest thing was that the fried fish was not greasy. It was just as advertised - crispy! We had three different kind of tacos - fried fish, fried shrimp and shrimp in vinegar. They were OK - not really anything special other than they were not like most friend seafood in Merida - dripping in grease. That was a very big pro! The friend 'crispy' shrimp had a very strong taste that we could not identify so we asked the owner (he is also the chef) and he said there was no strange ingredient and he was no help on the identification. He did tell us that it might be the oil because it was a combination of things that included cardamon. It might have been this but I use cardamon in cooking Indian food and it does not have this strong, almost chemical taste. We also ordered the fries fish plate and again, it was crispy and NOT oily. So, another pro! The other major pro was the price. I could not believe the amount of food we got for such a VERY small price! So what is the con side of this little interesting restaurant? There was just not much flavor. They lacked any interest. They did not taste bad but they lacked anteing taste of interest. A lack of salt may have been the problem. We liked the quality of service and enjoyed talking with the owner/chef. Will we return? I do not think we will be back in the near future. After we give it some time we might return to see if the quality of taste matches the quality of service!
