Bidra med feedbackRistorante da Uto is right opposite where we are staying in the medieval village Mercatello sul Metauro. In short, I can only iterate the positive reviews that have been written about Umberto and his Ristorante da Uto. Impressed by the setting, the welcome of the host and the menu, we purposefully set out to sample different courses cold and hot cuts for starters, pasta, and finally some meat dishes for main course. We had no room for dessert. The food was meticulously prepared and cooked, emphasising regional and seasonal origins including Le Marche's cheeses, vegetables and venison. Umberto explained the context of the food and what was involved with each dish. The service was attentive, informative and engaging. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making visitors feel right at home. At Umberto's suggestion we drank the house red which was a good quality wine. We will make sure we go back to da Uto before our holidays end.
The restaurant is a charming surprise in a very small town. The service was welcoming, the food delicious, the ambiance lovely.
We have been to this restaurant a number of times when visiting the region. Umberto is a great host and the food is excellent. Make sure you ask what is best today . There are local speciality 's depending on the season strozzapretti, chinghale, tartufo, tagliata.... The restaurant is a part of a 4 room Locanda Sacchi
If you are looking for a truly authentic evening meal or lunch, this is a perfect spot. Umberto is a wonderful host, full of good humour. He renovated the historic building himself a few years back and the result is not just a great restaurant but a 'Locanda ' with excellent and spacious rooms to stay in. It is right next to the piazza where the 'Palio del Somaro ' (like the famous Siena Palio, but with donkeys! takes place in July each year. But go to Uto 's any time and you will enjoy a fine meal, great service and wonderful ambiance
I recently visited the small town of Mercatello where I enjoyed a lovely lunch at Ristorante da Uto. I enjoyed conversing with the owner almost as much as I enjoyed the delicious lunch he served me, which included a savory dish of stracciatella di carne (shredded strips of beef cooked in spices) locally produced wines. Mercatello is a small town, set at the foot of the Apennine Mountains, about 40 miles from Urbino. The locale also features a B&B where you can stay the night. Delightful experience for la Studentessa Matta!
