Bidra med feedbackTo realize this is a celebrated asado place, we tried Empanadas and a 1/4 chicken. The empanadas were good. The chicken was terribly burned, too thin and not edible. Service was not available after we get the meal. It was hot and we had to go to find the waiter twice on water. We also had to find it twice to receive the receipt that, despite the bad service, contained an unjustified 10pct Gratity.
The attempt of typical Argentine Asado was on our list when you travel to Argentina. Our surprise to find most restaurants in the historic district served Italian cuisine and traditional Argentinian asado was not so easy. This special restaurant is recommended by our guide. Although outdoor grill was just...for decoration and the food was prepared in the kitchen we were not disappointed. We ordered a dish with varieties of grilled meat for two people and there was enough food for five. Each item tasted differently and with a fight of the great Malbec recommended by our waiter we had a very pleasant dinner. For a tip, you will ask 10% for the service in advance if you are okay with it. In front of the restaurant there is a small wine room and two outdoor terraces. There were also many locals who suggest that they have customers again and that is always good!
We had a fabulous meal last night. We shared the provoleta that was fresh, beautifully flavored and not excessively large. We had both Bife de chorizo, which was cooked for perfection and we could actually observe how the cook did it on the...Asado, from where we sat on the balcony. It had excellent taste and the chimichurri sauce accompanied it well. We shared dessert from a chocolate volcano that was also good. Service by a very powerful bilingual server made the experience pleasant and the wine finished the meal perfectly. Would highly recommend as excellent value for money.
As others have said, it is perfectly okay and for prices more than that. One night when we needed to simply eat a grilled trout was beyond criticism, butterfly and served with appetite potatoes. A bottle of Baron B was cold as a crystal and hit the square several times. The staff was friendly and friendly. There are better places in Mendoza, but this is quiet, seemed safe, and perhaps was good for lunch for the evening after dinner.
This was highly recommended by our hotel concierge, but as the saying goes, de gustibus non disputandum est. Neither my wife nor I appreciated the parillada, a selection of beef innards including kidneys, intestines, sweetbreads, etc. We are adventurous diners and have an affinity to...such delicacies, but these were all badly overcooked (apparently not to Argentines). The wine list was fine, though mostly devoted to Malbecs of the region.
