Bidra med feedbackThis is a lovely little place hidden away in Chinatown. The chef is from New Orleans and the food was incredible! Waiter service was excellent too. Can't wait to go back and try more delightful offerings, but think I will still have a bowl of the gumbo which was amazing
We were going to a gig at Ding Dong Lounge and decided to also have a meal. The service was very attentive and helpful. The meals delicious the pulled pork, tender, moist and fell apart in your mouth. Whilst the shrimp and polenta dish yum! The polenta a little bit different as mashed, looked like potato but very different texture. The feeling and vibe of the restaurant was great & the music suited the settings perfectly. Great prices. Thank you for this pleasant surprise. We hope to return.
I ate here recently with a group of friends. The space looked good and I was initially impressed with the atmosphere of the venue. The waiter service was very attentive and we were never left wanting for anything. The food was a mixed bag. The sandwiches seemed like they were good value – the friends who ordered them had trouble finishing them even though they were apparently delicious. I ordered the ribs – they tasted fantastic but there were only 2 ribs on the plate so really poor value for money. I also ordered the beetroot salad which really was an ironic name for it. Essentially it was a bowl of lettuce and finally I located the beetroot – 3 thinly sliced pieces of beet (picture carpaccio) laying on the bottom of the bowl. Not exactly teeming with beetroot! The worst part of the night was having to use the bathroom. No seats on toilets, water all over the floor – obviously designed to hose out to clean. Truly disgusting bathroom. Why bother setting up the venue for dining when they have such rank facilities? As we left we walked past the girl on the door who perhaps was taking money for watching the band. Most of us said a friendly “thanks” as we walked past but obviously her job was just to take money and not be friendly to dining patrons. She ignored all of us. So overall – the food was OK but overpriced for what the sort of thing you get from a food van. The venue particularly needs work if it going to charge those prices for dining.
I went here based on other Trip Adviser comments. The food was average, the service was good and the jazz was good. It is very dark inside which can be a little off putting but I understand why.
