Bidra med feedbackIt isn't too hard to get to since it is just across the road from the Maylands train station. It is a fairly large shop with one side having the bakery and the other being a dining area. They also had a few seats outside. <br/ <br/ The first thing you see is the counter full of delicious looking baked goods, both savoury and sweet. There was a cupcake cabinet as well as a cake one and the counter was just chokka with pastries and cakes. They have a menu with other items on it too. I ordered at the counter and then found a seat.<br/ <br/ I grabbed a red velvet cake and iced chocolate to eat in. The indoor dining area was quite interesting, having an American diner feel with booths, old furniture, and photos and other paraphernalia hanging on the wall. The ice chocolate required a bit of mixing otherwise it was just milk. There was a bit too much ice in there for my liking. The red velvet cake was delicious, moist, sweet and tasty. The cream on the side was also nice with the sweet frosting.<br/ <br/ I also grabbed a few things to take back home, a salted caramel tart, a chocolate cupcake and an almond croissant. They were all quite tasty as well. There were quite a few parents with children when I was there so I'm most likely not the only person who thinks its a great place for an afternoon snack.
Christmas Eve and another vanilla slice tip-off led me to Maylands in Perth. A trendy suburb with a hipster vibe, this retro themed cafe and bakery offered many delights. With such a kitsch feel I was surprised to see such French inspired pastries with a modern twist. Nevertheless; brunch, a coffee and then this vanilla slice ensued.
Sherbet’s cake are THE best in town, and that’s a big call with nearly 2million living here. its on a strip of shops that’s running hot and has been the anchor for all the others. you really can’t get better within a 2,000km radius and there ain’t many cake shops that can say that... coffee needs to improve, its the only thing stopping me hitting the 5.0
Cute little cafe in Maylands, next to Chapels on Whatley which specialises in sweet treats. I had a cupcake from here and it was lovely and dare I use the word…. moist haha. I was also drooling over the other cakes they have on offer, such as the red velvet cake. They also offer breakfast and lunch options however I have not had a chance to try. This place is always busy when I drive past which is a good sign. Definitely need to come back to try the other sweets they have on offer. Worth checking out – everyone needs a little sweetness in their lives.
Have always loved this place but now it's bigger it's even better! Had the scrambled eggs yesterday which came out looking very fresh and tasted amazing. The chai latte is brewed and served gorgeously and easily the best chai in the area. Heaps of room to get around which is great with a pram. The staff were lovely too.
