The Fox Inn - Matching Tye

I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were exceptional. The food was delicious with generous portions. I appreciated how they took into account the customer's experience while also following Covid regulations. I will definitely be making another reservation soon.

The food is consistently delicious at The Fox and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. I can't wait for my next meal there.

I ordered pie, mashed potatoes, and vegetables, but my meal was served cold. The waitress took it back and when it was returned, it looked like it had just been microwaved, with fork marks in the mashed potatoes. We were disappointed by the experience and likely will not return. Additionally, be sure to check the prices before making a reservation as they were higher than what was listed on the OpenTable page.

We had a really nice meal with friends and the food was lovely. My only critisism would be that at £7.50, the prawn cocktail starter was overpriced. The prawns and lettuce were very fresh but there was no bread with it as you would expect so it was quite a small portion for the money considering you can get a main meal for £10-12. It was quite busy but the staff was attentive and they were quick with both the food and drink orders. My main meal wasn't bought out with the others and I had to ask if they could check where it was as the other 3 had started eating their meals. It arrived a few minutes later. Overall a good experience and we would definitely go back again.

I have been going to the Fox on a regular basis for some years. The staff are friendly and efficient and the food is good quality pub food. They have adapted well to COVID-19 rules and provided a first glass takeaway during the lockdown. I will continue to recommend The Fox as a good place to eat.
