Bidra med feedbackStayed in the best unit ever. We were in Regal Vista and it was awesome. Did the sales pitch to get free golf and water park tickets. Salesman was a bit pushy but I don't have a hard time saying no 50 time's. Golf course was pretty nice and had 3 rounds in 5 days and if we didn't leave I would have been in for another round.
Update- Also, when I called to request extra towels, they mentioned the expectation was for guests to wash their own towels. If not, you will be charged $15 per extra set. This was NOT disclosed during check-in and there wasn’t any notification regarding this policy in the room. They are very dismissive and DO NOT believe in service recovery. All they want is your money!!!BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWAREIf you come here on the promotional offer, be prepared to be treated terribly. From the front desk (Ana) to the man trying to make his final offer during the 90 min presentation at the South Lobby (who even cursed) when leaving us at the table. He even told us he would block us from returning since we wouldn’t purchase. The amenities of the resort are great. However, the lodging at the Shenandoah Villas are dated and 1 star. The Woodstone Meadows are much better, but not likely to stay there if under the promotion. If you come here, do not come under the promotion. BEWARE!
This is the third time I 've visited Massanutten Resort. Each time I have stayed at the Summit. The first two times I reserved through Tripforth and didn 't have any problems. This time I reserved through Massanutten directly. I will not reserve through Massanutten directly if I ever decide to return. I 'll start with the good: The Summit has a good floorplan with lots of space. There is a jetted tub in the secondary bathroom which is HUGE! You could fit the whole family in this thing! If you have an upper level unit, you have a screened porch and a full kitchen. If you have a lower unit, you have a partial kitchen (no stove/oven) with a grill on the covered deck (only covered because it 's under the upper floor screened porch. Depending on where you are in the complex, you might have mountain views with lots of wildlife. On my recent trip, we paid a little extra to have a good view. We saw a skunk, deer, fox and groundhogs walking around the back yard. It 's very peaceful and my wife loves it! The bad: If the mattress was made of concrete, it would actually be softer! We actually bought a pillowtop mattress pad just to get a good nights sleep. My wife likes a firm mattress and this was WAY too hard for her. Each of my three visits featured some minor issue with the condo unit. The first time it was the door knob falling off nearly trapping us on the covered porch. The second time the smoke alarm went off if we turned on the fireplace. This time the fan in the bathroom didn 't work and a few of the towel holder/hook things were missing in the bathroom. All of these are just minor issues, not a big deal. My major complaint was the pushy people trying to get me to attend a timeshare presentation. This only happened when I booked through Massanutten directly. Nobody even asked if I wanted to attend a timeshare presentation when I booked through Tripforth. The first attempt was the day after I made my reservation. I received a call from somebody saying they were from guest serviced asking if I 've been there before, if I was planning on golfing or going to the water park, then offering me waterpark tickets if I wanted to attend a 90 minute presentation. Nope. They started to ask why I wasn 't interested but I cut them off telling them that I absolutely am not going to waste my time and that I am NOT interested in timeshare. They started to ask why again but I hung up. Then when I checked in, which is not a fun or easy process, it happened again. (Little hint, there is a second check in counter in the back of the main building that isn 't as busy). When I booked through Tripforth, you get your key, a packet of info, parking pass and you are on your way. This time, I stood in line for 30 minutes to check in and they didn 't give me a parking pass. They gave me a piece of paper saying I was entered into a drawing. I had to stand in line again to give this paper to somebody else for my parking pass. This guy was obnoxious. He was determined to sign me up for the timeshare presentation. I told him I wasn 't interested and I just wanted my parking pass. He asked why I wasn 't interested. Well quite frankly, it is none of your business why I 'm not intersted, give me my parking pass please! Nope, he wasn 't taking no for an answer. I had to argue with this slimeball for 5 minutes to get a parking pass and after driving 5 hours, I was not in the mood for it. No means no. I 'm not going to spend hours having somebody try to pressure me into making the worst financial decision of my life for a $150 gift card. Then the next day the phone in the unit rang. Again, they said they were from guest services. They said they wanted to invite me to a free breakfast buffet so I could give my opinion on something and that I would be entered into a prize drawing. Seriously?!?! How dishonest can you get? This is a slimy way to try to trick people into a timeshare presentation. If timeshare was a good product, people would be asking to buy it, not being tricked into buying it by
We were excited about our trip to Massena resort. This was not our first time visiting there However upon arrival after placing our reservations ladder part of 2022 we arriving too fine that are accommodations were not ready. They had to locate another area of the resort for us to spin our plan week, and waiting over 30 minutes for them to find us lodging. Once we were place our vacation began and everyone enjoyed our time together. The maintenance staff was awesome, we had to call on them twice once for the ice maker in which they replace and the other for bees that were coming up through the vent. They handle each situation very professional.
We left the resort yesterday after a 6 day, 5 night stay in a 1 bedroom suite with an attached 1 bedroom lock-off. We chose this resort because the website heavily advertises the waterpark- it is NOT included in the price of your stay! Water park costs $40/child and $55-$65/adult. The majority of the activities on the resort require payment. The cheapest are: the chairlift $5-$8 each; mini-golf $10-$11 per player; 1 hour yoga $8 each, and teen night $10 each. Everything this else was either not worth it or costs well over the $10, such as the petting zoo for $10-$15 each, the escape rooms for $32/person, and horseback riding for $75 each. Upon checking in, we were told that we had to pay an additional resort fee of $7.75/ night, but this was not disclosed to us when we made the reservation. When we arrived, the 1 bedroom lock-off had no working AC. For the next 24 hours, it took about 3 phone calls and a visit to the front desk before the AC was fixed. That day the temperature was 90 degrees. During our stay we needed extra towels and an additional set of sheets for the sofa bed. Despite calling at least twice, we received no response and no call back from Room Service. When I visited concierge in-person, I was told that extra towels and bed linens were only provided for free under “extenuating circumstances”, otherwise we had to pay for additional sets, because guests are expected to wash their own linens during their stay in the building’s common laundry room. Also, be prepared to drive EVERYWHERE, even within the resort. Nothing is walking distance! The state of our rooms was the most positive of our experience. We were a group of 7: 4 adults, 1 small energetic child and 2 rambunctious teenagers. Between the 2 rooms, there was plenty of space for all of us and the sleeping accommodations were comfortable. The best thing was that they were pretty well cleaned, save for some old popcorn kernels under the master bedroom and a dirty towel included in our clean bath linens. The bathrooms and kitchens, along with the kitchen utensils and appliances were clean. The sofa beds were clean and both balconies were clean. We paid $712 post-tax for 7 nights/ 8 days of accommodations. Their pools, arcades, sauna and steam room were also presentable, though the common bathrooms in these areas needed more frequent tending to.
