Bidra med feedbackGreat Italian restaurant in Marina Del Rey on Washington close to the pier. Parking can be a problem but we ended up parking at the beach lot at the end of Washington. This place has a was cozy look with a piano player in the dining area. It made for a nice eating environment. The service was exceptional too. The waiter was attentive and gave us recommendations for the best dishes. 1. Cappuccio e Burrata Sauteed Tuscan kale, Cannellini beans and burrata cheese topped with caramelized balsamic reduction 5/5 2. Insalata Crescione watercress salad served with roasted almonds, hearts of palms, pecorino cheese in balsamic dressing 5/5 3. Salmone alla Griglia Servito con Salsa di Limone e Capperi Grilled Atlantic Salmon filet served with white wine lemon and caper sauce 5/5 4. Dover sole deboned at tableside served with white wine lemon and caper sauce 5/5 Just an overall excellent dinner highly recommend this place.
Wow. In a year, they have raised prices by 50 percent. Now, not worth it at all. Pasta at 24 dollars? Joke. Was great place. Now is an avoid it. Size of portion is 1 cup, no more. See GF and Tiff B reviews below. We were all regulars. No more. Prices a joke. Tomahawk steak not even US Prime, 150 dollars. Place has turned into a money pit. Too bad. Used to be good for price. Now is a totally avoid place. Or see Kam S review. We are the real ones. The other positives are fakes posted by owner.
Came here for a work dinner. There were about 20 of us and we were in a room in the back. Something about the acoustics had us all screaming over the piano man up front (they had a speaker in the back amplifying his music). It did take us about an hour to get our separate checks sorted out but I am glad they worked with us on that. Beef pasta this was amazing. Pasta was homemade and chewy. Flavors were good and I didn't need to add any extra cheese to the cream sauce Free bread was amazing. It came warm and the outside was crunchy and the inside was super soft
I have to explain my poor rating as I felt taken advantage. I have been to Casa Ado on 3 occasions. The reason for the single star out of five is because during my last visit (Saturday April 28 my birthday), is because of the surprising bill. Most items in the main course section list for prices in the $20s and $30s. The most expensive dish being the Fileto di Manzo or filet mignon for $36. When ordering, we were told the list of specials, including a Tomahak steak for two people. Highly recommended by the staff. The dinner went on fine and the food was satisfactory, with the taglietelle bolognese being very good. However, when the bill arrived, we were STUNNED to learned that the recommended Tomahak steak was $150!!! How could that be? There is no menu item above the $30 mark. If this was for two people, ok, it may cost $80. NOWHERE was this price published and we were not informed of the cost when presented with this off menu item . I feel that we have been head. Casa Aldo is a Restaurant in my neighborhood and one that I want to come to more often as the food is good. But I HATE being TAKEN ADVANTAGE of. I still had to leave a $30 tip, but this is bordering fraud in my book G
Totally reasonable Italian spot and a bit more upscale than most of the fare in Venice Beach. Decent service a bit tight in the outside seating but totally fine and the food was pretty good. Menu is pretty short and really nothing explicit for the kids which can make it a challenge if you're there with the family. Wound up having the burrata appetizers which were pretty awesome and I had the special swordfish with broccolini which was prepared well except it was a pretty thin swordfish steak. Kids had gnocchi they can prepare it with just butter which was pretty good. We also tried the chicken which was a bit plain. Ultimately, at the end of the day, it was a decent but pretty expensive meal for four people and no alcohol.
