Willie Jewell’s Old School -b-q

My 17-year old son and I stopped in yesterday for lunch. He was craving a really good burger- we are a big fan of the bbq but had never tried the burger. It came out fresh and hot and covered in melted cheese. He said it perfectly seasoned and was the best one he has had In a long time! Didn’t even save me a bite! . Thanks Desmond and crew for the great lunch with my soon-to-graduate son. Also the grape juice lemonade is the bomb!

I ordered takeout online. Everything was good including customer service at the counter. I like how they have the sauces in the packets. The sauces are good. One reviewer on Yelp stated that the sauces were watery but that was not the case for me. It was good.I ordered beef brisket, pork, ribs, and sausage plus mac n cheese, collard greens, and cole slaw.If they offered corn bread as a side order in their online menu order system (not just for the family meals that is advertised at the counter), they would get five stars from me. They should also include the family meals on their website for those who want to purchase a family meal with the option for one meat item.My order was ready 13 minutes after the designated pick up time which was not a huge issue to me as my order was large. I just wish they had corn bread as a side order in their online menu. I would have gladly added corn bread to my online order for takeout.When I went there were about 20 people dining. It was not empty at all.I will be returning. So good.

I don't know if they have changed owners or cooks but the last two times we have been sadly disappointed. The Mac-n-cheese has been pasty and not creamy and cheese like before. Pulled pork was ok but nothing like in the beginning. This was our go to place for bbq. . . Not so much now

We had WJ BBQ at a friends graduation party and it was so good we had them cater our family dinner of 15 for our son's graduation and, true to form, it was outstanding. We had ribs, pulled pork, chopped chicken, mac cheese, baked beans, coleslaw, peach cobbler and banana pudding and from the first to last bite it was wonderful. It's obvious the owner cares about service and quality food. You can't go wrong. Thanks Kat!
