Sagres Restaurant - Maple Ridge

Just heard the "sad" news that this restaurant will be closing as of mid-October. The owners & staff member have always been first class with regards to service / tasty Portuguese food! We came here on Oct. 8th. for dinner & yes, I went with my favourite entree the tasty fresh cod entree with all the trimings! We will sadly miss the family atmosphere & great times, as the last 12 years have passed far too quickly!!

Tonight, my husband ordered dinner at Sagres, a Portuguese restaurant nearby. Being Portuguese himself, it was great to just call the restaurant to order without looking at a menu. He asked if they had prego and described what it was. The lady who answered explained how they prepared this sandwich. It is simply a beef sandwich. He proceeded to order two, one spicy and the other not spicy. I was so pleased with how fast it was made and the quality of the beef. It was tender, juicy and so full of flavour. The bun was fresh and yummy. The sides were just as delicious. I loved how the potatoes were cut like chips, so some were as crunchy while others were a little bit thicker, making them a little softer, more "meaty", and well seasoned. So happy that I had some Mateus in the house to go with my authentic Portuguese meal. Obrigado, Sagres!

Fantastic food. Best in the area. Santos, the owner, is a wonderful and kind man. Favorite is the fish.

Love this family restaurant for it's tasty food and great service. Last night we made reservations, which was a wise choice, as most of the tables were full. We took my parents and one of the son's & his spouse,all of the meals were tasty & flavourful! I love the cod with the rice & potato or the pork with clams!

Back for some tasty "comfort" food, as I love the cod dinner, which is very tasty & flavourful. The staff member & owners are very friendly / efficient, suggest that everyone gives it try at least once!
