Bidra med feedbackOur first night in Auckland we decided to come here. The staff was great BUT the food was probably the worst I've ever eaten for that price. We ordered the T-bone steak and the sweet and sour chicken. The steak was supposed to be 400kg when it came it was mostly all cartilage and fat. The sweet and sour chicken tasted like the sauce was just tomato soup. We couldn't eat it even though we were starving when we got there. Our bill was $70+ dollars and we didn't even eat our food. We just had a lot higher expectations. We ended up going across the street to Wendy's after.. cause that was better.. Agin the staff and environment was great. Food wasn't.
It has been sometime since my last visit here. We attended as part of a large family gathering that had prebooked. As fellow diners began to arrive, the waitress removed 4 chairs saying that they could not get around the whole table to serve, and that others had to sit on a different table, but this did not happen. We then had a different waitress that started to take drinks order, and then disappeared off to serve another table before everybody had given their order, we finally ordered our drinks and food. The mains started to arrive before all the entree 's had been served. There were a couple of people that received their mains just as most of us had just about finished our meal. From talking to others in the group, they were not impressed either with the service or the quality and taste of the food. Comment of the night was The bread tastes better than my steak , which summed up the evening!
A grand piano welcomes you into Broncos in the front entrance hall, but I've rarely seen it played. Mostly, it adds to a great, western ambience that permeates the place. Unlike other reviews, I've rarely had issues with the service. The food is good, though nothing spectacularly amazing. Something I've noticed is a flaw with most steakhouses in NZ is when they serve you ribs, they always bring out a bowl of ice cold water with a lemon in it to clean your fingers with (or bring it warm, but half an hour before the ribs come ...right). Um, this might have been okay during the 1800s when perhaps plumbing wasn't up to scratch, but hot water is the only way to clean your fingers thoroughly after they've been soaked in marinade. That's my advice, Broncos. Otherwise, you pull a good show would be amazing if you hired a pianist too to pound out an exciting solo too.
Been to Broncos few times and every time I go there it gets worse. Don't know if they have changed owners but the steak portion getting smaller, the price has increased and waitresses don't smile or have listening skills.
Blimey, there's some poo reviews here... We come here every now and then and it's not that bad... Yeah, they can be a bit hit and miss sometimes, but I wouldn't go so far as to say they are as **** as some of the reviews here... Apart from the steak comment, it is kinda meh for a steakhouse. A few years ago I had 3 beers tipped in my lap by an unco waitress. It think she was trying to find the quickest route to my pee pee by cutting out the middle man. They seem to mainly hire teens, so service is either over enthusiasm or slight disinterest... Kinda funny either way. But it hasn't stopped us from coming back. The staff that have been here for ages are always really good too. El Burrito (chicken one) is nice Chicken crepe is nice Weiner schnitzel and chicken one is nice Sizzling Fajitas are nice Tried the entree special Butter chicken... And I can make a better one from scratch to be honest, but it was ok. They have a Broncos card for $40 for a year which gives you one meal free, and other deals, so it works out way cheaper than eating at somewhere like Maccas. So, leave high expectations at the door and leave afterwards with a full belly. 4 stars from me, don't be put off by the slightly harsh reviews.
