Halterman's Eatery - Manquin

Just had dinner here and we will definitely be back. Great family friendly atmosphere, service was great, our server Lauren was Wonderful and the food was Really good. A must to add to your list of really good eateries.

This place is a hidden gem. Always amazing food and service. It’s a 45 minute drive for us to get here, but definitely worth it. My favorites are the spoon bread, hush puppies, and any steak special they have.

Ever since we discovered Halterman's, over a year and a half ago, we eat there at least once a week. They are over a 20 min drive but WORTH the trip! We take all our friends there and recommend Halterman's to clients. We've had almost every item on their menu and have NEVER been disappointed. Both the servers and kitchen staff are very kind and attentive. I HIGHLY recommend Halterman's to everyone!

Dealing with FOOD POISONING from this place from eating the crab dip. Oh not to mention we had the worse service ever.They seat you at a table and give you a basket of chips, but no water. So you sit there waiting for 15 mins to even to get a drink order in. So my one suggest off the bat serve water with the chips.We order an appetizer to have before our meal it should not show up a few minutes after our meal that when we was seated and waited for 45mins. The waitress only gave a 3.40 discount on her mistake. When she should of been given to us for free. Any other establishment would have done this.This place was overly priced, waitstaff needs to be better learn to come back to check on their patrons. Not once was we checked on for refills etc.Will not recommend this place.

If you are looking for an eclectic dining experience go elsewhere. If you fancy good service go elsewhere especially when you see the prices of the food you would think that good service comes with it. Not the case. Arrived at 7. Got seated right away. 10 minutes later, we give drink orders. The server returns a while 10 minutes i think) later with a coke and a cocktail drink. I overheard the table behind me were disappointed that no taco shells so no fish tacos. So we Ordered an appetizer and 2 entrees. 35 minutes later, the entrees arrived about 1 minute before the apps. So what's the point of an appetizer if you're serving it with the entrees? We were offered a discount $3 off an $18 app). This is where we are left for the duration of our time. No server asking do we need something, drink refills, nothing. In fact they basically ignored us until it was time to pay the check. They were Johnny on the spot to collect the money. They communicated with us to get our order and then to get out. That's it.Too frustrated to confront a manager but I think the manager served the food and it didn't matter.I must admit the fish and chips I ordered were rather good. The crab dip and pita pieces were good.There are much better places to spend your money. No plans to return.
