Savoy Grill - Mankato

Best in Mankato. This is one of the best places in Mankato to see music; great atmosphere, great beer selection, great food, and hands down the best patio in Mankato.

What's the Purpose of this place. Here's the scoop both good and bad. <br/ <br/ The place is dark and loud even without a bar crowd. I couldn't imagine being here with a bunch of drinkers. The service was horrendous. To top that off, I think the server is the owner or at least the co owner. She was fairly good at my table, but I watched her at other tables and didn't like what I saw. For example, some guys were complimenting the food and during mid comment she walked away to clear another table. I would have taken my tip and left with that sort of rudeness. You might be thinking she didn't have time to talk, but that couldn't have been further from reality. She just wasn't interested.<br/ <br/ As for the food, I had an Ethiopian dish. It was good no complaints on that end.<br/ <br/ In terms of the establishment, I think they are trying to do something for everyone: restaurant/tavern, Mediterranean/Ethiopian, place to eat/place to see bands; also, the place is as dark as night during mid day. <br/ <br/ Get a theme and stick with it and add some lights. <br/ <br/ The place isn't working.

Great food and excellent service. My only complaints are that they were out of several items on the menu and it was pricier than I expected.

Ummies Bar Grill has some great food. I had a black and blue burger with their in house potato chips it was very good and very well done. I also had a side of wings (traditional) a great meal. They are on the more expensive side for me which is around $11 $13 a burger but their worth it and filling. You won't be leaving hungry here. Also the staff was very friendly.

Good bar food. Had the Reuben Balls, the Popper Burger, and the Texas burger. Everything was delicious. Our waitress Rachel was great. Would recommend for a good burger place.
