Main Street Pizza - Manistique

I've visited this location as well as the one in Marquette, and I can confidently say it's the best pizza I've ever had!

I've lived in Manistique for most of my life, and I've consistently placed complicated orders from Main Street. The staff is always friendly and eager to accommodate. Their pizza and breadsticks are fantastic, and their subs are also excellent.

I recently called to order a pizza for my wife and me, and I encountered a very rude employee on the other end. When I asked if we could substitute garlic butter for the tomato sauce—since my wife has a tomato allergy—he acted disinterested and bluntly told me that substitutions weren’t allowed. He insisted that we could either have it with the sauce or not at all. Needless to say, I chose not to place my order there. I've visited several Main Street Pizzas, and this one is by far the most disappointing in terms of customer service I’ve experienced. Especially since there’s a Pizza Hut nearby. My advice? Don’t waste your time here; they clearly don't prioritize customer service.

Tonight, I drove in from a couple of hours away, knowing they close at 10 PM. I could have called ahead but was confident I'd arrive well before closing. I walked in, and the staff member asked what I needed. I replied that I wanted to place an order, and he told me they were closed. I pointed out that they close at 10 PM, and he said they stop taking orders at 9:30 PM. Unsure if I had miscalculated the time, I checked my phone and showed him it was 9:25. He simply reiterated that they were closed and wouldn’t be making any more pizza. I was frustrated not just with myself for not calling ahead but also with the absurdity of the situation regarding their closing times. In this town, 10 PM really means 9:30, and 9:30 means whenever they decide. A couple of years ago during COVID, I understood when places were short-staffed, but if the kitchen closes or the staff want to leave early, they should just say so and adjust their hours. I want to clarify that I'm not just a visitor; my family has deep roots here, with my parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents all being from this area.

We stayed in town on a Sunday night and enjoyed a fantastic pepperoni pizza. As for parking, I encountered some annoying questions while trying to leave a review. Overall, it’s a great spot!
