Bidra med feedbackVisited on a weekday evening. This is a nice pub by the river. We sat outside for a few drinks, then went inside to eat. I had steak, salad and chips. The portion was large and I couldn't eat it all, but it was very tasty. My partner had lamb shank which was tasty too. This is a nice pub, but the decor is tired and needs updating, but recommended it for the food and river views.
Fairly priced, very pleasant evening meal. Gorgeous lemon meringue pie. Hosts friendly and chatty and lovely views to the river.
Lovely location by the river but thats the only good thing i can say about this place. It was grubby inside and very tired. Clientele consisted mainly of bikers who seemed to take over the bar. We did want to eat but decided against it after ten minutes of being inside. Its dark and miserable inside and the tables were sticky and dirty. Staff were pleasant.
Visited this pub on an early Saturday evening. We ate outside. The views are spectacular and there were boats moored. Was a lovely evening in the sunshine. Myself and my boyfriend's son had battered sausages and chips, and my boyfriend had ham, eggs and chips. All three meals were hot and delicious and very substantial. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would love to visit again
Although this is off the beaten track, my partner and I discovered it (we were staying at Corse Lawn hotel not too far away). I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Firstly, the owners are a lovely couple and it's a truly family run establishment with their daughters working too. Second, it was a great atmosphere really lively and lovely people. Third, the food was fantastic. Fourth it was great value. I would thoroughly recommend it. Just wish we lived closer so we could go more often!
