Bidra med feedbackEverything was delicious and I loved how reasonable priced it was. The plate was enough for me and another person to share. In terms of service, it’s just any other Vietnamese restaurant and they are all trying their best and that’s all you can ask for.
Decided to try something different for lunch in Little Saigon today. Instead of opting for the many Phở places in Little Saigon, I went here and tried some Cơm Tấm. It tasted great and the portion size was generous. I liked the texture of the meat and the shrimp on the sugar cane as well as the shredded pork which complemented the rice. Dining experience was pretty good, my waiter was friendly.
Best Com Tam in Orange County and the only one that comes close to the good Com Tam places I've eaten in Sai Gon. The flavor is authentic Vietnamese style and close to how my mom would cook it. Service is fine, only had a minor problem once which is no problem, though one nitpick I have is that the place isn't big so it can feel a bit cramped at peak hours.
Many delicious dishes to eat with broken rice, shrimp rolls, egg rolls, spring rolls, and super delicious grilled spring rolls. Clean, fun, cute. I don't understand why some people criticize it badly. My family never gets tired of eating it, because other places usually only have ribs, egg rolls, and fried eggs. The kids are very addicted to the spring rolls here.
TLDR They will punish you for being clean/sanitary. THEY CHARGE $2 per cup, if you ask for water in a to-go cup… I used to stop by this restaurant many times with my wife. As a local business owner, I would also invite different clients to eat here. I became friends with some servers and made sure to tip them well each time I ate here. Whenever my wife and I ate here, we would always ask for water in disposable “to-go” cups because we have had some bad experiences in the past with dirty cups. The last time I visited, the server let me know they would have to charge me for to-go cups. The type of cups they use are Dart brand foam cups not sure if it’s 12 or 16 oz). At Costco, 1000 16oz Dart foam cups go for $79.99, which comes out to around 8 cents per cup. The last time I visited, they charged me FOUR DOLLARS $4) for 2 WATERS in a TO-GO cup. $2 a cup is WAY TOO MUCH. I would pay 50 cents, maybe a dollar at most. It feels like they are trying to punish me for being clean. I told the server to pass on a message to the owner, are these two disposable cups worth losing long time customers? For the record, I didn’t get a reply from the owner. I made sure to tip well, since it was not the server’s fault, but that was the last time I stopped by. Since then I have been to many restaurants in the area and still have not found a single restaurant that has charged me AT ALL for water in to-go cups, let alone TWO DOLLARS. Everywhere else offers this FOR FREE. In the end, two dollars may not be much, but it strongly implies that you do not value me as a customer or my satisfaction. That pushes me away. Needless to say, I will not be recommending this restaurant to my clients any longer.
