Muckenwirt - Magdeburg

Recently went to this beer garden after having read reviews online, and given the go-ahead by fellow Reddit users. I have to say that I was not disappointed. Being English, Norwegian, and French speakers in our group, we politely asked if we could order in English- but however was treated to a fantastic waitress who spoke beautiful French! The woman was very informative about the menu, things to eat, things to drink, and had a wonderful sense of humor. To be honest the woman herself is what made our evening, and will be the reason that we will be back! I, myself, ordered the schnitzel, and my friends ordered the steak. Everything was delicious, large in portion, and amazing to taste. We most certainly will be back and will hope to have the same wonderful experience! Thank you!

This is a restaurant cum beer garden type of a place. The latter serves Bratwurst and Buletten, and has a few stations where you can order drinks. The Mueckenwirt is beautifully located on the banks of the Elbe, overlooks the island in the middle of the river, has a small passenger ferry operating nearby, and the long-distance cycle path running almost through the beer garden. Picturesque!
