Maelzer Brau - Lüneburg

Eine großartige Wahl für eine Essenspause während Ihres Besuchs in der Stadt, aber auch für ein traditionelles Abendessen mit einem guten Bier danach. Hier wird vor Ort Weizenbier und Pilsner gebraut (ich hatte das zweite und es war sehr gut). Die Gerichte sind einfach, aber schmackhaft. Die rustikale Umgebung verleiht dem Restaurant eine herzliche Atmosphäre und eine angenehme, ungezwungene Umgebung zum Verweilen.

Das Craft Brewery befindet sich in einem Haus, das früher auch eine Apotheke war. Hervorragende lokale Küche. Spargel steht immer auf der Speisekarte des Monats.

Not far from the Sande - one of the medieval marketplaces of Lueneburg in the old town you find the Mälzer Brauhaus. We had some great parties there and we recommend the dark beer cellar for the real atmosphere. Grab a not only one beer - order a beer cask and enjoy the evening. Food is highly recommendable. Fair prices. I would recommend a reservation as often pretty crowdy.

This place is huge, three floors up plus the old beer cellar below. They also seem to have lots of reservations but still have space for people to drop in spontaneously like us. Inside it was very warm and quite stuffy - in part probably due to the face that they actively brew their beer in the building. The staff are friendly and efficient although they seem quite stressed. The food is fresh and tasty. I had the Angus beef burger with potato dippers (a fantastic cross between crisps and roast potatoes) which was delicious.

The place was packed when we arrived, but fortunately we got a table on the third floor. Service was fast despite the number of thr clients and very friendly, too. There is a good choice of German food and wines. We had asparagus and fish; fresh and tasty. Deserts delicious. Very nice German white wine. Price/quality excellent. You really enjoyed the lively atmosphere and good food. Better to book next time!
