Bidra med feedbackLooks very inviting from the outside however, food was disappointing all round. My husband's fish soup was shocking slopped all over the dish by the waiter and hardly any fish at all in it . Sent that back and tried the mixed fried fish well terrible!! Looked like a plate of scraps from the chippie. Hard to tell what was in the batter it seemed like just lumps of batter! Extremely disappointing. Pappardelle Cinghiale was average with undercooked pasta. More than just a dente but a rock harde! Fortunately we weren't charged for the soup as even the waiter could tell t was terrible
One appetizer big enough for two people, two glasses of wine, two meals and one kilo of cheese the sold me set me back 75 euros. However they will automatically bring a bottle of wine (which you have to pay) and open it along with bread unless you tell them not to! Now onto the review. If you ever have the opportunity to visit the city of Lucca The City Of Walls near Pisa than you must visit this place. Great atmosphere and peaceful. It was a great change from the tourists-catered menu you get from big cities like Rome and Florence. If you don 't speak Italian then you can ask for an English menu. We ordered an appetizer for two people that consisted of cheese, three different types of meat with toasted bread. Each bread came with a different type of spread. Water of course is sold separately like any other restaurant in Italy. I ordered the Tordelli Lucchesi 1895 an old recipe that consists of ravioli type pasta with meat inside. The outside is covered in a red sauce with seasoned ground beef. Very flavorful. The other dish was a roasted duck which was very tender and very delicious. This restaurant was so authentic, I can no longer eat in one of the many restaurants you see in Rome on every alley and street with patios outside. I highly recommended it. We booked during the day and visited as a family of 3, 2 adults and a baby/toddler after stumbling across the restaurant in our exploring of the town. The staff were very kind and attached a booster restrainable seat to a chair for our little one. Complimentary bread was lovely, however would have been nice to have butter or oil to accompany, was good for soaking up sauces post dish though. Beer pour had a lot of head and when settled was below the full line indicator. Pizza was really good and the ravioli was melt in your mouth delicious. Food was good, staff were lovely Highly recommend for anyone looking for a meal in Lucca.
We had the traditional ragu and a calzone. excellent eating, great wine list, helpful and friendly team. very strong local option!
Great food, advice noodles, meat and I also think everything else. only touches the style of the room furniture and excessive lighting. recommended the same.
