The Empire Lounge And - Louisville

Booked a table for before pm on a Saturday. Our waiter was only okay but the kitchen was out of many of the entrees and the kitchen staff left before we got an opportunity to look at the dessert menu. Basically got kicked out of the place by on a Saturday night. Won't be going back.

It is a beautiful space and they have one of the best bartenders in East Boulder County, but over and again the food totally disappoints. I ordered crab cakes, a special entree. for four greasy, pancake thin, nasty tasting crab cakes, that had all-too-obviously been cooked on a dirty greasy flat top and smooshed with a spatula. Terrible. Husband had the burger, which was overcooked AND cold, a truly unhappy combination. This place makes me sad because I want to like it, need a place like this in my hood, but the food is just over priced and inconsistent.

We have always loved the Empire but its been pretty hit or miss over the past year. This past visit may be our last sadly. The food at times is really quite poor, being half cooked or completely unappetizing. After waiting an hour for a lackluster meal we were presented with our (expensive) check with all of our dirty dishes stacked on the table in front of us. Friendly but poor service.

The service and food here are consistently great. I am a regular and always find something new or a familiar favorite.

Happy hour menu is limited.... food is just not worth the pricey bill. Super nice service, friendly bar staff.
