What a refreshing addition to this seaside town! My wife and I vacation in Louisbourg every year, and we absolutely love it—it's small, charming, friendly, and peaceful. The only drawback before was the limited food options available. However, we recently heard that two new cafés opened up in town and were excited to give them a try. Previously, we often found ourselves traveling to Sydney for coffee and meals. Since our arrival, we’ve visited Gaslight every day. We’ve enjoyed their coffee, snacks, and lunch, and we couldn't be happier. The staff at Gaslight is incredibly friendly, and the chef genuinely cares about the food he prepares and serves. We'll be here for another month, and I can confidently say that Gaslight will be a regular stop for us during our stay. They also host a weekend market, which is a fantastic place to find local artisanal goods as well as fresh produce and treats. It’s such a great alternative to making the 30-minute drive to Sydney. We’re thrilled to see this open in Louisbourg; it’s exactly the kind of place that makes us want to extend our stay each year.

I stopped by the Gaslight Café on the last day of the tourist season, and it was the only restaurant open in Louibourg at that time. They welcomed us as if we were visiting a friend's home, offering excellent customer service. The staff were incredibly friendly and added a nice touch of humor to the experience. The menu is limited, but it features home-cooked style dishes. My meal was outstanding, and the highlight was a delightful homemade apple pie drizzled with caramel sauce. Overall, it was a wonderful experience after a day of exploring the Fortress.

We absolutely adore this cafe! The atmosphere is fantastic, the staff is wonderful, and they serve the best iced coffee I've ever tasted! I also appreciate that they offer a gluten-free option. Thank you!
