Papa Cristo's Catering Greek Taverna

Been coming here for 10+ years. This place holds a special place in my life. Great memories were had at this place. Best Lamb Gyros I've had, and has not been dethroned since I first had it. I am not local to the area, but will often make the drive tothis joint. This place has the old school deli vibes that do not change. Its what makes this place special. Everytime you stopby, nothing changed, and it's like time doesn't exist here. Only good times and good food! Been coming here with close friendsfor a long time. There was a 3 year period I didn't stop by (thanks COVID), and upon my return it's so nice to see thingshaven't changed here. Same old amazing market, deli, and delicious food!

They sell mastiha liqueur! Try it with it tonic water (I call it the M&T). And the fish fillet gyro was delicious. Cristo is an amazing guy, super nice. And Wendy was very helpful and friendly. I plan to return.

A long time restaurant in LA. Free parking in rear. The food itself was ok and lacked a lot of flavor imo. It was also pretty expensive. The dining area is ok at best. Ok menu selection but I have enjoyed better places for less money with better flavor food. Go if you want to experience a piece of history is my best suggestion. I personally wouldn’t go back.

Used to be the best greek diner in Los Angeles. The grill Lamb used to have the touch of a Greek god. The salad dressing had a unique quality ,but that was gone. I had boycott eating at this place a long time ago.The flavor that made him special was forgotten. The prices are absurd and it is just not what it used to be 40 years ago.

Best gyro ever, beef and lamb blend with the potatoes were insanely good soda included for $18 lunch special... Incredibly good and worth it, first time here. The gyro alone was worth coming back. Also went to the bakery grabbed some cookies and some custard desert and baklava of course and yogurt. Cookies were great, baklava delicious and the custard was a little overwhelming but great once you bite from the bottom...tons of custard couldn't finish it. The yogurt was good but not amazing. Everyone was so friendly and nice, answered all my questions and were patient with my newbie self . There was a guy checking on the tables non-stop as well. Great ambiance, about as close as I will get to feeling like I'm at an authentic Greek deli in Greece. 10/10
