Asian Box - Los Angeles

I visited this restaurant for the first time and it was quite enjoyable, provided you know what to expect from their menu. It's been described as the Chipotle of Asian street food, and that description holds true—though they only offer one specific item: The Box. You have the option to create a custom dish or choose one of their house favorites. You can pick between a rice or noodle base, your choice of protein, toppings, and sauce. If that sounds appealing, this place delivers on flavor. However, if you're hoping for a broader range of options like edamame, soups, noodles, or sushi, you might want to look elsewhere. They don’t have indoor seating, so if the weather isn’t ideal, be prepared to order takeout. The staff was also very friendly!

Great fast food location! There’s plenty of outdoor seating available. I tried the Vietnamese hot chicken, which is their spiciest offering on the menu. I found it a bit overpriced, but the portion size was generous. As for the spice level, I’m a fan of spicy food, and I’d rate it a 3 out of 10. However, my 3/10 might feel more like an 8/10 for someone else when it comes to heat. Overall, the food was flavorful, and it was served within a few minutes. I really enjoyed my meal and plan to return to try more items from the menu!

I had an excellent Vietnamese hot chicken dish. The rice and chicken were cooked perfectly. The sauce was a lovely blend of sweetness with just a hint of spice. The heat level was moderate, enhancing the overall flavor of the meal without being overwhelming.

First time eating here and it's great if you know what their menu offers. Someone said it was a Chipotle for Asian street food and that's right..... Except they only serve ONE type of food. The Box. You can opt for a custom or house favorite. Rice or Noodle base, your protein, your toppings and sauce. If that's what you want, this is a tasty place. If you're looking for variety (edamame, soups, noodles, sushi) then this isn't your place. They don't have indoor seating, so if the weather is crappy, plan to take away. The staff was real nice, too!
