Chen's - Long Beach

I ordered delivery an hour before closing on a Friday night. The portions were good and the food had great flavor, satisfying my craving. The Sesame balls were delicious - fresh, soft, toasty, and not too sweet. The Orange chicken had a great flavor and tasty minced garlic bits, adding a nice touch. The broccoli beef was flavorful, with the broccoli cooked just right, although the sliced beef was too soft, possibly over-tenderized. The Sweet and sour chicken had good flavor and was hot and crispy, with the chicken packaged separately from the sauce to maintain its crispiness (although it was a bit dry, which is typical for Sweet and Sour chicken). The pan-fried house noodles were amazing - packaged separately to keep them crisp and not overcooked, making them my favorite dish (besides the sesame balls). Everything was packed in a cardboard box, not in plastic bags. The Honey walnut shrimp was decent and typical.

This restaurant is my favorite place. It serves the best Chinese food in the world. I miss the Szechuan shrimp so much. When I lived in Long Beach, this was always my go-to comfort food. Chens, I love you.

The staff is very welcoming and the food is delicious. However, there have been instances where they forget to provide utensils for the rice.

Arrive with an empty stomach! The portions are massive, the flavors are decadent, and is the perfect place to bring friends. Highly recommend the spicy salt and pepper shrimp. This is also a staple of the community.

Best veggie fried rice I’ve had in years ! the container was so full it wouldn’t even close. The rice was freshly made and so delicious, sometimes fried rice doesn’t have a lot of flavor to it but not this one. Very nice ambiance inside and the service was friendly fast and efficient. I loved my lunch.
