Bidra med feedbackWent out to dinner as a party of 8 for a birthday celebration and had an incredible time with the most amazing food. Everyone in the party raved about the food and service after leaving and we're already planning our next night out to Salvadore and Amanda's.
We went to Sarastro restaurant where on Fridays they have a colombian singer that told us they do the same show in Salvador so went a big group of friends for a brunch. The whole experience was totally different than in Sarastro, while in there the food and staff were super nice, in Salvador the food was probably the worst spanish I have ever had in London (I'm spanish) plus the staff were rude, trying to kick us out 10 min before the end of our table and not allowing us to stay standing afterwards for a drink. The colombian singer as usual did an amazing performance but is not like in Sarastro that you can dance with her music, in here she is singing while you are eating so you can't enjoy here much. Don't waster your money, do NOT go to Salavador Amanda ever!!!
I booked this restaurant for a group of friends before going to the theatre. On the plus side, we arrived early and were seated immediately. The bar man also prepared a “normal” martini on request. The wine was good but frankly should be at £49 a bottle. Sadly , the rest of my experience is not a positive. The food was average at best. None of the dishes were remotely outstanding or close to being delicious. The main issue for me is how dirty it feels and looks. The toilets are disgraceful- they need a good old fashioned clean with a bit of elbow grease. Standing at the wash basins the dirty marks round the top of the loo bowl are very obvious. The floors are dirty and sticky with missing tiles in the cubicles. Shabby chic it is not and if that is the look they were hoping to achieve they have missed the target by a country mile. I imagine it gets pretty rowdy in there but some standards should not be dropped. It gives a terrible impression and made me think other hygiene processes are probably missing.
This place pretends to be a Spanish restaurant, but the waiters/waitresses were Eastern European instead. The serrano ham had come out of a packet rather than being carved from a leg and was poor quality as a result, croquetas of ham were OK In general, the place was rather in need of a revamp. Not very authantic
Unfortunately this is not a review of the restaurant or food as we have not visited yet. We had a gift voucher for the Spanish brunch for 2 We came to use the voucher but it had expired by 2 and a half months. I emailed the restaurant and advised them that I had mislaid the voucher and were they able to either extend or issue another voucher. I got a reply advising that as it had expired they could not help. I think it is more of a case that they DID NOT want to help. They may have got my money for nothing but if they want to grow their recommendations they will lose my custom and possibly more as I cannot recommend to friends and family. A little shortsighted in my view.
