Long At Sanderson London

This bar is no longer what it used to be. They used to make great cocktails and had good wines, now they serve low quality drinks comparable to what you would get in any local cheap pub. Unattentive bar staff, we were charged for drinks we didn't order. Not going back.

We went back to the Long Bar after the long Covid closure. Very disappointing. The bar was not crowded, we wondered why. Cocktails were just average and at the end we were overcharged. We had only 2 margaritas and 2 white wine glasses, but were charged for 3 each. The bill seemed excessive, but we blamed it on inflation. Unfortunately I realised it only this morning…

Fond memories of the long bar at the Sanderson. It was the last venue visited before the first lockdown hit. So delighted to receive an email announcing the reopening. Visited the long bar yesterday afternoon fully aware that the hotel itself is undergoing extensive refurbishment. Greeted by pleasant barman on arrival who gave us the bar list and a list of around 10 cocktails but said these were the house cocktails and he could make anything. He then left and a young lady served us. I asked for classic champagne cocktail and water. Before my husband could answer she walked away and when my husband pointed out she hadn’t taken his order she replied, with attitude, that she was getting the water . She then came back to say my cocktail wasn’t on the list so couldn’t put it through the till. No trace of the service level we have previously received at the Sanderson or have come to expect Won’t be returning

Very disappointing. We’ve been to the Sanderson many times in the past, but won’t be going again. Staff seem poorly trained and little knowledge with poor attitude. Refused to make a classic champagne cocktail (a very common cocktail) because it wasn’t on their (very short) cocktail list. The girl behind the bar had evidently never even heard of it (how can a mixologist never have heard of such a basic classic cocktail) and said that she couldn’t make it as it wasn’t on the list and she couldn’t have put it through the till !! Didn’t even make any attempt at an apology either, instead made us feel like we were being stupid for ordering something not on their list! Been to many cocktail bars in London and never had service this bad. AVOID …

Restaurant was lovely, food amazing, service okay but passable would recommend.
