Bidra med feedbackThe sandwich was hard and not soft they didn’t have any afternoon teas only the bog standard coffee and normal tea. The staff didn’t understand much English when am asking about the type of tea they have. The food was okay not the bed you had to bend down to eat and also they didn’t change the plates or give you other cutlery.
The restaurant was not ready to serve afternoon tea, resulting in a 45-minute wait for our food. The server mentioned that we should have pre-ordered, but I argued that our reservation for afternoon tea should have been enough notice for them to prepare the food.
The scones and sandwiches were fantastic! While the service was a bit slow initially, it improved quickly. The desserts were not particularly special, but still decent. The tea selection was small, but the tea itself was delightful. The decorations and utensils were adorable.
I chose to have afternoon tea here because compared to other places it was cheap and we got what we paid for. There was less food than usually offered at afternoon tea, sandwiches had been made a while ago and were not fresh, scones very small. We were put upstairs in the empty restaurant but that was better as the bar downstairs was noisy packed. I wouldn’t go again.
It was my partner's birthday and we were going to the theatre to celebrate. I decided on Afternoon Tea at Park Plaza County Hall as it was close to the theatre. The hotel is very modern and we were seated in a well-lit cocktail bar, which was not the most romantic setting. Despite a rough start, the food and service were good. I would suggest Afternoon Tea at Park Plaza County Hall for a pre-theatre meal, but not for a cozy romantic dinner for two.
