The Kaatskeller - Livingston Manor

Really cool place with nice outdoor seating and communal tables. We had yummy vegan pizzas! The staff were happy and helpful!

Pizzas can be made with vegan cheese (I think it's from Cheezehound, a local vegan cheese creamery), we had the margherita pie. The delicious Caesar salad is vegan by default with vegan dressing, vegan parm, and spicy chickpeas.

We had the vegan caesar salad and the Mediterranean Retreat pizza subbed with vegan Cheezehound mozz cheese. Both were delicious. They have a small bar upstairs and music on Friday nights. Everyone was super friendly and accommodating and happy to make sure our food was made vegan. They have a beautiful outdoor dining area and we sat by the fire pit for awhile. It was a chilly night but the summers must be amazing there. Hope to get back in warmer days and try the oat milk gelato from Milkweed, the ice cream trailer that I hear opens in summer.

10/31/21 Have been back to eat more pizza — and very much enjoyed! Pricey if ordering one pie per person but absolutely delicious. Got the Mediterranean Retreat $19) with kalamata olives, spinach, white onions, EVOO and sun dried tomatoes but asked for without feta. Arrived at table *with* cheese but like 10 seconds afterward one of the ladies showed up and swapped out for mine without feta exclaiming she did remember and quickly apologized, I was so happy I didn’t need to wait as I was pretty hungry and they were getting close to closing time!

Ordered from the cool little trailer, amazing vegan in house made cheese, friendly and helpful staff, great drinks, and the outdoor patio space was wonderful. Sadly they had no oat milk ice cream when we came despite us being there when they opened. Best vegan pizza I’ve had in a long time. Fun experience on our way to a concert at Bethel Woods.
