Bidra med feedbackAndrew has the best fish and chips. The dough is thin so that you can actually taste the fish and its frit is freshly cut not frozen. If you have not yet tried to stop them and give them an attempt
I have been searching for the perfect fish and chips since I moved here 2 years ago. Two girls and a grill on the highway was pretty damned good, probably the best in the area, but alas they shut down. The privateer kitchen had decent fish, but the cold lifeless frozen fries killed the meal. Hunts point, well a box of frozen high liners fish and chips is far superior to their offering. The Mersey grill, just meh. Lanes all right but not worth the price. So with a fair amount of trepidation I tried Andrews today. Would I once again be disappointed? Would I regret my decision considering the substandard fare I have received from other outlets. I was gobsmacked. Fish crisp, perfectly coated with no gaps in the batter to allow hot oil to come in contact with the delicate flesh inside. Cooked just right. The chips, fresh cut, obviously blanched before final frying to perfection. The only complaint. Heinz malt vinegar, you gotta get cross and Blackwell. Without a doubt the best in the area. Will definitely be a regular.
The fish had long hair in the dough.
Best in town, Englisch style
