Collins - Limerick

So unfortunately my last review is no longer valid. We visitited recently for casual midweek meal and we both werent happy. I ordered fillet steak, treaty city beer and chunky chips. Starting with steak- it was miniature, I mean it was lenght and width of your pinky and overkooked, chips were hard and obviously were sitting in kitchen drying out for a while worse case scenario they scrapped from other plates to add to damage my beer which I always liked everywhere else had funny smell and aftertaste.. . My partners meal wasnt much impresive either, he wasnt complaining much but he never does! I could tell it wasnt great. Service was also meh, so overall Im not mad to come back at all. My last review was also 100% genuine but food was a top class quality. That chef I bet moved to proper restaurant by now! :

I was thinking for a very long time on if I should write this review but this experience has to be shared. I went in with my family on the 27/08/23 and we had to roam the place for free table (plenty tables free but still with dirty plates on them). We waited a long time to get menu's. Problems started after I ordered a steak. I asked for medium rare but more on the rare side if they can. We all got food and when I cut my steak it was well done not one bit of pink. I complained to the waitress and stated what I ordered, she had no issue and took the dish away. I then had the manager storming down and arguing with me that I can only order rare or medium rare there's nothing in between, I said I understand but the waitress did not state that when taking my order. I then said that steak was not close to being cooked the way I ordered (it was well-done). During mid sentence the manager turns around and leaves. I was astonished. I then saw who I assume is chef leaving kitchen area. Staff pointing fingers at us and having some comments. Chef giving us a dirty look and goes back in. Manager comes back to us which I stated to him that the customer service here is shocking!!! Manager looked around at customers and changed his tune being overly nice then(to the point of being cringy). He came back with a complementary Guinness on him which I said I refuse and will pay for it myself. I would have walked away pay for my food although my kids were eating theirs and the quality was ok so we stayed. I received my steak later cooked to how I originally ordered it seems after all it was possible to cook it that way. I would not be surprised from the look chef gave me that this steak hit the floor or mop bucket a couple of times . Just to add the people sitting behind us never received their food and had to order again. In 18 years I'm in Ireland I have never seen such shocking service. If you enjoy being treated like **** that's definitely a place for you... End up paying €120 for two adults and two kids...

Has dinner here last week with my fiancée and child . A lovely welcome by Gary . Lovely food , generous portion sizes and the best customer service . Highly recommend. Lovely atmosphere and food was delicious. Thank you so much .

Called tonight at 20.50 knowing kitchen closes at 21.00 and no one came to take our order until the poor young waiter apologised profusely that kitchen was closed I hate writing a bad review about my local but none of the tables were cleared around where we were sitting Not a happy camper as to be fair food usually good

Simple do not eat here absolutely dreadful mash was like instant mash carrots and cabbage was like it was washed in dish water and parsley sauce was a very weird colour we orderd and my child's gougons and chips where I'd within 2 minutes . This was the worst I have experienced in a long long time .
