Bidra med feedbackAwesome Sushi! Thank you, McKenna at the Marriott Kauai Lagoons at Kalanipu 'u for the recommendation... This fantastic restaurant is part of a simple motel complex, on what looks to be a residential street, and despite its unassuming exterior... it has some of the finest sushi we 've enjoyed anywhere. We visited Hawaii for our 2018 summer family vacation, visiting the Big Island, Oahu, and Kauai. All were very nice and we had a great time. We visited twice once for a short date night and then for our final Hawaiian family dinner before flying home. Both times Sushi Katsu was filled with guests/customers... the second time we waited 20 minutes or to seat... and it was worth the wait. We enjoyed: ⁃ Edamame ⁃ Miso soup and the Japanese salad ⁃ California rolls ⁃ Spicy tuna roll ⁃ Green tea As we paid, we saw some other things for sale by the register. One of those items is jerky for dogs... made from local cattle. We love our AmStaff (American Staffordshire Terrier (like Petey from The Little Rascals so we picked up two bags. When we got home he finishes them quickly... we almost heard him bark aloha after each one. :
Sushi Katsu was amaaaaazing. It's located right below Tip Top Motel in Kauai... it was our first time coming here, we heard so much good things about this place and I really wanted to try it before I flew back to Oahu. I'm so glad I did.. The food was absolutely perfect. Their chicken katsu meal came with chicken katsu, rice, salad, edamame and miso soup. The portions are super friendly!! I had to get their Sushi Sashimi deluxe combo; which came with salmon, ahi, hamachi, egg, 8pc california rolls and other nigiris. The waitress was super accommodating when I had requested for something else besides Ikura and Ika. She got me more ahi slices.. the quality of the sushi was really fresh. Our waitress constantly checked up on us, took our order in a timely manner and also dropped off our check in a good time as well. Our experience at Sushi Katsu Japanese restaurant was fantastic we can't wait to come back next time. Thank you so much!!!
Lady server was nice I 'm vegetarian so I ordered the tempura roll and regular CA roll. How can you mess up these simple type of rolls? CA Roll comparable to Walgreens sushi. Had a slight sour taste to them yuck... also ordered the expensive $18 fish tempura plate the tempura dipping sauce didnt even taste like the traditional tempura sauce that I always have, the tempura was soft and not crunchy nor flavorful and the vegetables did not taste fresh. The miso soup was very flavorful and delicious, though. Fairly expensive items on the menu.. I regret taking the chance to dine here.
We love the hamach, ahi, and salmon sashimi! So if u get a craving go here .. we come here twice or three times a month . Saimen is good and also oriental steak is good .. makeral good too ..chicken katsu donburi so yum too !!! miso soup good : and of course green tea ice cream for dessert .. service is fast and friendly .. I don't understand why some people can base there review on the fact that it's connected to hotel or whatever . So what .. the building is old .. I like places like this that have history and add character .. and Atleast this business is utilizing structures that are already here instead of building new ones. The important thing is how is the food? how is the service? etc... everything is great here and it's clean the ladies are on it . Try the recommended dishes ..
Sushi Katsu was my favorite sushi on the island! They closed in 2020. The best sushi on Kauai will be missed!
