Bidra med feedbackI was here for a week, in the area for business, and it was nice. So much history, and the rooms were very spacious. It looks somewhat ominous from the outside, and apparently it's hunted, but in my week there I did not encounter any unusual activity. But what I met was really pleasant people while I was on their dessert wine called Boo 's. The friendly company alone made it worth the stay. If I come back to Kansas City, I'll stay here.
We prefer this type of stay in a crowded, high hotel. The rooms are quite large, the ambience is amazing, the management is always friendly. These are good rooms with separate areas. The rooms are very clean. In some places it's a little antique if that's not your thing. Maybe I should say vintage. It was about 20 minutes from where we went. Hopefully back soon.
The rooms were very clean. The experience was fun, and the staff is outstanding! We had rented all nine rooms and had eight other couples staying there at the same time. All the others had great things to say about their rooms as well. We also visited the winery on site and it was exceptional as well.
I ws in KC for 5 days helping my brother (he has Parkinson 's and his wife (she has Alzheimers with their care; it was a very stressful and exhausting time but I always looked forward to returning to the Belvoir for the night to decompress and count my blessings. Also had a loverly evening in the bar, enjoyed the company of Melissa behind the bar, Dave, a friendly neighbor and Gabby his friendly 4 legged companion. The wine was good as was the red Port too. Great rooms, very spacious, large bathrooms with plenty of towels, only item missing was a terry cloth robe. Why stay in a non-descript, cookie cutter, motel when you can be at the Belvoir with all its history (skeletons!! , character and good wine not to mention friendly people. I will be returning in a month.
Loved the visit we will be back for sure! What a nice jewel just outside of KC! I loved that the rooms were incredibly large, and I was very thankful they were not filled with creepy, smelly old antiques. We travel often and so pleased with our room #9. I loved the Pottery Barn style even though it is an old historical building. The bathroom was beautiful, the first thing I noticed was there were plenty of towels and they were big, heavy fluffy. Nice big rug in the bathroom as well. We loved the tv room with the love seat, blanket and gorgeous area rug. Although I would recommend another mirror in the room, especially for those there to attend a wedding. The bedroom was large and very comfortable as well. Wish it had a 2nd nightstand, The bed linens were very nice, with a variety of pillows. I liked no décor on the walls, the curtains were pretty enough and the calming grey-blue paint on the walls was perfect. We left for dinner on The Square and came back with plenty of time to have a couple of glasses of great wine in the bar and chat with the owner. He provided some great stories about renovating the building. We enjoyed walking around the building on our own seeing some of the historical items on display. We cannot wait to come back, it was a nice get away from KC without being far away and we were incredible happy with the room the price was below what I would expect. I would suggest a notebook in the room with history of the building and restaurant recommendations. We had fun reading the in-room guest book. I did hear footsteps about 2am that did not seem to be from guest and our lights flickered a few times, but other than that no ghostly happenings as others who stayed in our room experienced. Another suggestion, a simple breakfast would be great to offer (like the charcuterie box at the bar). Even for an extra fee, local muffins or bagels would be enough to offer. There seemed to be a perfect room for that which appears to seat maybe 12 people with a small counter refrigerator. Or even a couple of bottles of juice or water in the mini frig in the room with a couple of wrapped muffins/bagels. The nice 11am check out was not needed as we left for breakfast on The Square. Maybe a simple breakfast is something to think about offering, partner with a local bakery maybe.
