We had a Saturday lunch here. A lovely set of simple starters (ham, two cheeses, superb fish cakes), a skewer of sirloin and the special of the day an octopus dish with “Russian salad”. The food was well cooked, drinks were nice and the service attentive. A great experience sitting on the terrace. I’d be back.
From the outside it looked nice, and there is a fair local crowd coming for lunch we thought it would be a good place for a quick bite. However, it took them more than an hour to bring the order, half of that time waiting to be noticed. The food was not good. We had a meat and a fish main, both very boring. Perhaps it is more a local place the owner was clearly not happy about us visiting his establishment. The locals who arrived after us were finished and long gone before we got served. Anyhow, best not to visit.
We had a dinner in this restaurant last September. We ate local dishes served with quality like picanha as main course and some starters like sardinha. We drunk a good red wine Vale da Mata vintage 2009. We spent only 41€ for two people. I suggest to enjoy this family-run restaurant.
