Lightfoot - Leesburg

This is a gem. Everything is excellent. The building is a beautiful old bank. Parking in the rear is wheelchair accessible.

An amazing restaurant owned by 2 sisters in the heart of Historic Leesburg, VA. I used to get the mushroom strudel and now I always get their crab dip, china town chicken salad, tomato soup and the fried green tomatoes topped with shrimp. Their desserts come with cotton candy and are AMAZING. I love the architecture of the building as it used to be a bank. The mens bathroom even has a vault inside. This is a beautiful restaurant and is a real treasure in Western Loudoun! Also they have a side cafe for people that want to pop in fast and pick up their food! Either way this place is fantastic.

Restaurants like Lightfoot are usually reserved for special occasions, and this is no different. This occasion was a birthday gathering with 3 people so nothing big. The atmosphere of the place is above reproach, and the service is always pleasant and with a smile. Unfortunately, sometimes restaurants tend to get a bit too froo-froo ... If you know what I mean. We got an appetizer. Fried green tomatoes with shrimp. We got 3 slices of breaded and fried green tomatoes and 3 shrimp. It was OK in flavor but everything is always spices with hot pepper sauces... And it was rather expensive (5 bucks for one tomato slice and a shrimp). I got the southern fried Chicken, a special for that day. Not impressed. The batter was the consistency of a cracker and it fell off the chicken the moment you bit into it. And the chicken was under done and lacking in flavor. Needless to say, a bit disappointed with my meal choice. The other two meals were fine and they were enjoyed. Even though, mine wasn 't up to snuff, I 'll still eat here for other special occasions, just because it 's a nice place to go.

My husband and I love this place. We are regulars but this weekend we didn’t have a good experience here. The chairs were dirty (food and grease) The waitress was not really paying attention to my little requests and we were 3 adults and 3 kids and they add 20%tip automatically. Normally since they are kids we can customize the tip.
